Last herceptin now what

Having my last herceptin Tuesday,I am happy but also more scared than ever.I feel that was my security blanket.I wonder since I am er-pr - will I be put on any other drugs.I see er+ pr+ girls are on meds for 5 years.

    Are you getting zometa 2x/year?  It reduces the chance of recurrence by about 33%.  Many of Her2+ get it, so do many Stage 3 gals.  Check out the Zometa Anyone? thread on the stage 3 forum for more information on this.  Although clinical studies have looked at ER+ BC, there is absolutely scientific reason why it shouldn't be just as effective for ER- BC.  Ask your onc.

    The risk/benefit ratio is great for this drug.  The one signifcant possible side effect, osteonecrosis of the jaw, is very rare, and not seen in any of the clinical trials for 2x/dosing.

    Hi,

     I'm triple pos and had the hormone therapy but still felt lost when I finished herceptin.

    The feelings are temporary and you soon get more confidence and feel glad you no longer need this, I'm five years out and doing well and I'm sure you'll feel more confident very soon as I did!:)

    There are no other meds as yet for hormone neg, but do remember you have a better response to chemo than us pos ladies so think posiitive lol:)

    Thank You for your response,but I guess after I see my onco I'll know if she will put me on anything.

    Tricia,maybe I am mistaken,but I thought pos.has a better response to chemo?
