Brenda:  You watched him take out the port???!!!  Whoa!   You are brave!!!  I told my BS not to tell me what she was doing at any time.  I didn't want to know!  I'm sooooooooooooo glad yours is out now!!  I remember taking pain med for the first day and and half the 2nd day due to being uncomfortable after the port removal.  Awesome pics!  You have more "bangs" than I do.   I must say, it has been interesting watching my hair grow in.  My def. has "curl" where I've never had curl in my life, except when I induced it.  :)  Am getting my first real hair cut today.  Will see where he trims and where he leaves it be.  Am taking my pics of Alyssa Milano for him to see what I want.  I also am taking a pic of a woman from a Prevention mag. ad hawking vitamins with a hair style I really like.

    Happy Anniversary, Alicia!!

    How was your weekend, MIchele?

    Happy Tuesday!!  Nette

    Nette,

OH NO I did NOT watch, the entire time I was shaking.

I got so nervous I even got another charlie horse in my back during the procedure. So, he told me take some deep breaths and the nurse said it was OK to hold her hand and I did quite strongly I must admit. Then the Dr. started again. Dr. Snyder was very patient with me and they did actually prescribe me a Valium to take before I came in for the surgery.

There is NOTHING brave about this girl.

Love you girls, Thanks for all the compliments and well wishes!!!

P.S. I had to edit as I noticed your new pic, you look totaly awesome NETTE, You ROCK GIRL!

    Kiss BEAUTIFUL~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Alicia,

Thanks so much for the compliments. I am in pain but I have some meds to help. I just need a little sleep and can't wait for the work day to be over. I hated getting up this am.

PS, You look GREAT in short hair to me. I just love the look on you!!! You and Nette are both beautiful!!!!!! Please believe this.

(I'M NOT JUST SAYING THAT EITHER)

     (((((Warrior Hugs)))))

Oh my gosh. Your hubby will be ecstatic!!!!! What an exceptional idea. I wish you the best and a SUPER 20th. Yes our husbands truly deserve to get the attention for sure. they have been though as much as us at least emotionally for sure. I know I was not always easy to deal with and yet like your DH he stood by every minute.  Enjoy your day!!! Dinner and the kids.

Brenda: Take it easy this week. I had my port out two weeks ago and it flattened me for the week. I wasn't expecting that as it was taken out under local anesthetic -- a few shots of lidocaine to the area. I didn't feel anything except a kind of tugging sensation. I couldn't see what was happening as the nurses pinned up a sheet in front of me. And happy wedding anniversary!

Last Zap done, lost a little skin with some tape yesterday. Dude was too chicken to remove the last piece of tape today. Given instructions on how to handle the weeping, oozing spots that are coming. Follow up with rads in a month.

See Big Onc next Thursday, Clyde and I, we will see what he says.

    MELINDA!

Sooooo glad your done being zapped!!!! E'wwwwwy Oooochyyyy though! Hope you are OK today. I know it gets better in a couple weeks, I just feel your pain as you have been through so cotton pickin much! Bless you sweetie

I'm angry with Clyde too, when you see the big onc next week he will say all  is ok it's just calcification and from being zapped and the surgery, etc. No new bad news, ALL GOOD.

I am going to have a long talk with the Big guy upstairs and make sure that everything will be OK for you. It needs to be good-bye-clyde (((((gentle hugs)))))

P.S. Mary, thank you for the advise and trust me have I been resting. The horse kicked pretty hard. I was prescribed pain meds this go round and even got a Valium for the surgery. Whoooot!.I am beginning to feel better already today though. Haven't taken anything for pain so far.

    To all Warriors Big Hugs!!!

PS Nette I love the new avatar!!!

Melinda:  You're done!!!  WOO HOO!!! How awesome is that!!!  ummmm.  If I may ask, why did you have tape on you? I put a band aid on me when I was having rads and the techs almost had a cow, saying nevvvvvver use something sticky because of what happened to you. Of course, no one had mentioned that ahead of time.

BrendaShar:  I hope you are doing well with the de-porting aftermath.  And thanks for the compliment.  :)

Alicia:  Thanks for the compliment.  I am going to keep my hair au naturel  for now because it is sooooo easy.  Did your DH do the jet flight yet? I hope you had a fantastic anniversary!

    Happy Thursday!!  Nette

Melinda ~ Congrats on your last zapping !  I want Clyde to go away ~  I hope Big ONC has a plan next week.

Nettie ~ Hubby's jet flight isn't until September.  They only do it a few times a year.  :)

Brenda ~ glad you are resting and not needing meds.  Hope you feel better each day.

    :)

Melinda:  Good heavens!!  I can't believe that the rad people, themselves, put the tape there!!!  What did they think would happen when it came off??!!

Michele:  How was your time (weekend?) away?

BrendaShar:  the avatar pic was taken right after I got my first real hair cut.

I had a scare the night before last...I was having my usual fingers and hands falling-asleep-tingling feeling that comes and goes all the time, but especially during the night.  I turned over in bed to change the position of my left hand so it would stop tingling and I felt a "pop" in my forearm and and then an intense burning in my hand, like I was just held it in a fire.  I moved my hand around hoping to get it to stop but the feeling didn't go away.  I had visions of it feeling like that permanently, and I started to panick.  I got out of bed and came downstairs to worry about what to do next and after about 30 min. it went away.  whew.  I thanked God repeatedly.

My bottom eye lashes haven't fall out again like the top ones did.  Top ones are coming back but, like the first time, growing very slowly.  Still don't have enough there to put mascara on, but it makes it easier when I go to the pool because there is nothing to run.  But, does the sh#$%^%$$t from chemo ever end???!!!

    sigh.

Nette, so what do you thing the popping was....how strange.  Some days I wonder when it will all go back to normal....I think I am becoming a hypochondriac.  Perhaps I need some mental help.

Nette: Your hair is amazing too. I'm so jealous.

Alicia: Happy Anniversary - hope there are many many more to come!!!

    Sue,

welcome back!!! I am glad you enjoyed your time on vaca. I missed you. And OH yeah, I figured out how to get my picture in  the reply section by sheer accident. I copy and pasted it off my pictures in my notes that i do on facebook and it worked. I'm going to try again just for the fun now. I took a picture of my hair brushed straight back. It's crazy looking!!~~~~

    Melinda,

I had that tape on me too, thank the Lord I had no reaction to it and it didn't pull my skin off. I have pretty dark complexion and that helped me tremendously. I just kinda got a really dark boob when it was done. I peeled but it didn't ever hurt. My one boob is still way darker than the other. I haven't figured out why they even do tats, cause they still kept drawing on me anyways and then putting tape all over so I wouldn't wash it off. STUPID for sure.((((Healing Hugs))))

    Nette,

Sorry bout the scare, I have problems with my hands doing that but never the burning thingy going on. BUT, actually since chemo my hands have gotten better, I think because i gave up smoking therefore my circulation is much better than ever before. So, anyhow maybe you have a circulation prob, something to think and/or ask about.

    Alicia,

Hope you had an awesome anniversary!!!! much love to you!!!!

Well I got to admit the pain from the "Deportation" is easing up, Yippee I AY~~~~

Wishing all WARRIORS an awesome weekend!!!!

5 months Post chemo and my "PORT" is finally out !! YIPPIE!!

It worked again, I copy pics from my notes and I can paste them on here. Ya-Whoooooo

Brenda, you are becoming a computer geek...like me.  I just learned how to cut and paste a few days ago.  It makes finding a job a little hard these days.  Glad to hear your port troubles are getting better.

Big hugs to all the warrior sistas.  Have a great weekend.

Brenda: You are so clever - I was impressed.

Well, all of the washing is done!!!! Our flight was delayed due to fog at departure and arrival airports but we eventually made it. DH got a big shock being in Sydney again (he is originally from there) - it's so different from when we lived there 31 years ago. I've been back a lot for work, so it's not such a big shock for me. We did go for a walk around the Opera house as DH had never done that before. We had one day of sight seeing and my legs were killing me. At least I did do a fair bit of walking every day - much needed seeing I've been sitting on my bum for so long.

Thanks for the welcome home girls. I went crazy not being able to check in with you all while we were away.

Sue:  can ya tell we all missed ya??!!  Everytime I checked the board, I was disappointed when you hadn't posted.  You do have us all spoiled.

Melinda:  you are not allowed to go on a long vacation.

Come to think of it, neither is Alicia, or BrendaShar, or Michele, or...  :)

And speaking of warriors...where is Linda??!!

I agree:  I think the "popping" sensation in my arm was prob. a nerve getting pinched a bit and sending a jolt.  At this point, it doesn't make a differ. as long as it doesn't happen again!  I mentioned the whole thing to my DH and he told me something interesting:  I told him that it burned the most when I lightly clenched my fist that night.  He said in the future,  do not clench or do anything to try to make it stop.  A trainer told him years ago that the best thing to do, if anything hurts out of the ordinary, is to just relax it:  I should have just let my arm rest on the bed.  Because if you clench or shake it or try to do anything else, you could actually cause more damage.  Makes perfect sense.

I tried to post pics from my computer's "My Pictures" but copying and pasting didn't work.  I had to resort to using Photobucket and copying the URL code. Must find a way to skip the Photobucket step.

Oh! Oh! Oh!  From facebook!  It worked for me, too!!!  Yippee!!

Thanks for the idea, Brenda!!!! I hadn't thought of facebook.  And getting pics to facebook is easy.

    Happy Friday, everyone!!!  Nette

Great picture Nette, I just love it.

I'm glad I could be of assistance even if  by accident. Try and try again type thingy. Sure glad it worked though.  Hey, Thanks for that advice on not shaking the arms and hands, because it is the first thing I always want to do.

    Nette,

I copy and pasted this from another thread because I thought of you.

worth a try maybe, here is what it said below

About Taxol. Some women get "peripheral neuropathy" which is a stinging in the hands and feet (like pinches - really aweful!). I took L-Glutamin for this (you can get it at GNC) an it totally stopped. I kept trying to stop the L-Glutamin after chemo was over, but it would come back.

Nette: Your hair cut is great!!! My hair is still slow growing but getting some fluffy bits at the sides which actually seem to be about an inch long. Looks like the winter weather is on the way out so maybe it will grow faster. It's supposed to be 80 (27 celcius) here today - sign of an early spring.

Hey remember when that little girl asked me if I was a man. Well now little kids are starting to smile at me - things are looking up :)

Brenda:  thank so much for the L-Glutamin suggestion.  I plan to get some today or tomorrow.  I had researched the neuropathy on the web, but nothing was helpful ("Coping tips" "Home remedies")  Undecided

Sue:  you and I must have posted earlier at the exact same time, as there was no post from you when I submitted mine.  Too funny!   Thanks for the hair compliment.  Soooo glad yours is coming in, especially on the sides.  That seemed to be where mine grew the fastest.

I Googled all kinds of things after reading BrendaShar's suggestion re: neuropathy and some of the info about "remedies" had me concerned.  I have an appt. (6 mo. follow-up) with my medical onc in 3 weeks, so I'll ask her about what I can do.  There were suggestions of B1, B12, Glucosamine, Glucosamine with Condroitin, L-Glutamine with most of them in mega doses:  too many possible side effects.  So, I'll wait to see what she says.

    Nite nite.  :)

Just checked in the mirror - there are little waves forming at the back. It looks really nice.

Back to work tomorrow. I'm still going to do 3 half days this coming week, then 4 half days after that and we'll see how it goes.

We've had a hectic weekend. DH moved all of his office stuff home, so I bought him 3 large bookcases. I've assembled one - 2 to go. I love doing that sort of thing.

    Hugs to everyone!!!!
