((Paula)) my deepest sympathy for the loss of your sister. I have lost 4 siblings and I know the pain you are feeling. You were a wonderful sister to her and I'm so glad she had you to lean on. Know that you did all you could and be peaceful now that she is in peace.

i'm so sad to hear this news. Linda was sooo spunky, and you could tell she loved life and her family very much. i'm sending many sweet, gentle hugs, paula, for you and the whole family. i'm sad, but know that linda is not suffering anymore. she fought the good fight that we with stage IV all do, but with much grace, honesty, and humility. you are a wonderful sister, and i pray that someday you will be together again. much love, jenny

Thank you all for all the prayers and hugs. Linda had a lot of people that loved her and that makes me smile. Her doggies are doing great and we are taking a lot of walks and taking time to smell the flowers and just enjoy the world and all the great friends that are helping us as we walk this path. Hope everyone is doing good and know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Sending hugs your way. Love ya Paula

dear Kenzie,
If you cannot find anyone online at night, I can Pm you my number. If you call and I'm asleep, I won't answer. Or you can text me, same thing. I'm often up at odd times and have become a homebody too.
Maybe I missed an answer to the legality issue. We know that many docs give pts what they need to take themselves if they choose to "not wake up". Done discretely, it never becomes a legal problem. I've heard that they might say, "here's your (Ativan, lortab, whatever). Don't take (30-50,etc) it would kill you.". So, it's a code for choice.
Mostly I hear of heavy medication from nurses for pain and people stay asleep, then, at some point, sleeping, not drinking, not moving, an easy passing. Please tell me if I'm being to direct. I'm from New Jersey originally. Ignore the rest if too much.
My question is, if I sleep a long time, with people coming and going, will I be able to enjoy them? Would I prefer to set a time, say, 48 hours, where we know this is it and I have some control. My DH knows I'm a control freak and he let's me have my way.
Please tell me if I'm too Brutal. Love, Kathy -
I'm sorry to have to point out to you that Linda died some weeks ago-announcement on this thread on page 3.

Actually, Linda left us more than a year ago. July, 2010. I still miss her.
