The 9th I am free in the morning.
Candie
-
Hi Candie..what hotel will you be staying?
I was thinking it might be a nice idea this coming Saturday to have
lunch in Santee, so afterwards, those of us who would like to visit
Lisa could do that...what do you all think???
I saw online they have an Olive Garden there...
-
sounds good to me - I sure want to visit Lisa. Where is Santee? Where exactly is Lisa?
-
LISA UPDATE: Lisa is nicely settled into her room at the rehab center (Stanford Court - 8778 Cuyamaca St., Santee - 619-449-5555) and continues to amaze her doctors with her improvement. She is still not able to speak, but is fully awake and aware. She's also enjoying visitors and has really LOVED all the cards. Her sister Ellen put many on a large bulletin board next to her so she can enjoy them. She even found two cute guys to rearrange her room so she had a better view outside (and had them remove the TV so she had more room for flowers and pictures!!). There is a bird feeder outside her window and lots of little songbirds fluttering around. Just perfect for our hero!
And yes, WHERE IS SANTEE?? My guess is that it is east of I-15 and north of I-8. But have never been there.
-
Hey everyone. Sorry I am so MIA. Kids are off school for the summer. As I write this I have 5 boys in my living room playing video games and being very loud. Work has been going well too.
I am so glad to hear about Lisa's recovery. She is truely the strongest fighter I have ever met.
My youngest will be trying out for a part in Tom Sawyer on the 31st. I haven't made his appointment yet so I don't know what time he will audition. I understand everyone wanting to go to Santee to see LisaSDCA. That is a pretty long drive from Vista though so I would have to make a day of it. I just don't know at this point if that is possible. Dh has to work Saturday too.
Don't count on me to ride with you Sylvia. There is a certain condo I wanted to hold open over the week-end too.
Love to you all.

I found Santee! If you continue east at the end of 52E, it appears to turn into Mission Gorge Rd. Take that to Cuyamaca Street and turn left. It's north of I-8 and city of El Cajon. Google the address and you can see various routes depending where you are coming from. I still have no idea where to eat - but perhaps someone else will come along and make a suggestion.
-
Jeanne and Susan, how about the Olive Garden?
-
Actually you turn right on Cuyamaca Street off Mission Gorge, coming from 52E. I'm directionally challenged! Is there an Olive Garden in Santee? Where?
Not my favorite place, but I'm sure I can find a salad or something to munch down.
So are there now 3 of us?
-
I can come on the 31st, and remember, we can eat, say, at BJ's across from the sugar church, and then combine vehicles to go see our girl. That way, if no one knows of a restraunt in Santee, that might be easier. Or, there is an Appleby's in the eastern corner of the Parkway Plaza shopping center which is on 8 east, you can see the center from the freeway. This is near the freeway that goes to Lakeside/Santee. We could meet there too. Might make more sense.
Oh yes, there is an Olive Garden in the Grossmont Shopping Center, which is also one you can see from the freeway (8). Not the Olive Garden, per se, but the center. The Olive Garden is in the parking lot, that is a good idea, and a nicer place too.
Hi Candie, I would love to see you, I am in Mission Valley, so I can easily come to whereever you know you are near! I would love to meet you.
Gentle hugs, Shirlann

the olive garden is
9800 Mission Gorge Road
Santee, CA 92071
(619) 562-1622get directions
-
I'm glad someone is capable of making a decision - Shirl *totally* confused me (not that it's hard)
time?
Jeanne - will you be able to drive?
It looks like we might even be able to walk to Lisa from there.
-
If I can't drive, maybe my DH will drop me off. Thanks Lisa for the Olive Garden location. Sounds very close to Lisa's facility.
-
Jeanne, if you can't drive let me know
how about noon???
12:00
-
Hi , I will be staying at Hotel Del Coronado. I would love to meet if we can. I see that your group meets quite often..how nice.!
-
Oops, I meant "Thanks Liz." I think that if my DH can drop me off at the Olive Garden, maybe I can catch a ride with one of you to the Stanford Ct. to see Lisa - then maybe with someone else to Mira Mesa Rd. off I-15 (Susan are you going?). DH can pick me up there. No need for any of you to go completely out of your way to Poway and back! Maybe he can be talked into walking around North Park and then picking me up in Santee. I'll see what his plans are. At the moment I really don't feel comfortable driving.
-
Jeanne, we can work it out...
-
Okay Dh got Saturday off and they switched the play auditions to Little House of Horrors instead of Tom Sawyer. You never know I might surprise you on Saturday.
-
Okay so it is 9800 Mission Gorge Rd at noon in Santee. I will be there, Saturday, if my brain doesn't screw up!
Hugs, Shirlann
-
Hi all!
Glad to hear about Lisa!
She has been in my thoughts and prayers.
I am sorry I have been so out of touch. Like BrendaBMD my kids are here and I am spending great time with them. I was even able to go to COmicCon with them last week!
If someone can tell me how to post a picture on here I will ... i have a fun one of the three of us there.
I will not be able to make it Saturday. My kids leave on Aug. 5th and we have plans this weekend to go to Huntington Beach. I will look forward to seeing you all in August!
love and ((big hugs)) to all!

Hi everyone,
Sorry to be missing. Too much has been happening as well as a couple of weeks of vacation at a conference and a convention. I have been following everything tho as I have it set to come to my inbox.
I am planning to be there for lunch on Saturday. I miss seeing you all and it's been too many months.
Jeanne, I live right off Mira Mesa Blvd near I-15. I could even take you if your want to meet at the park and ride if your hubby doesn't want to make the trip.
