Anyone starting chemo in June 08

Hi girls,
HunkyD, a good surgeon is a good find. Mine surgeon probably did the best he could, and the doctors all say it looks great, but I'm my worst critic. Now that my Onc. says, there's no way to catch an early recurrence or separate incidence. I kinda wish I had a new set of boobs. what was I thinking, when I told the surgeon, I liked my boobs.
Wyoming, the last and only time I got to go to Hawaii, was in 1979 when I graduated from Jr. college, and I went with my parents. Sure wish I could go again. Something tells me it's changed.
Reno, was OK. We went shopping at Cabela's and another giant sporting goods store. There was a real working ferris wheel, inside one of them. Checked in, had dinner and drinks, and I was so tired. Yesterday we left at about 11am, and drove all over the place in the country, and then home at 8pm. DAT!!! It was so hot today, I just took it easy.
Kelly, I liked the library story, too! I love books, and it's so touching to hear about you kids. Tell us more.
KKing hope your anniversary trip, went better than my Reno trip!
Puppy kisses!!!
-
Chocolate when you get Diesel home we expect pictures.
Leggy sorry you were so DAT. Just relax and get caught up.
Kelly did you get your funnel cake? I love fried food.
Hunky I hope you don't have to have an other surgery too soon. You need to let your body rest.
Talk to everyone later, I'm going to beat my Hubby at Jeopardy.
Wyoming
-
Wyoming, does your Jeopardy game require you to ring in with the Wii? LMAO! HD
-
No I shout louder then him!!!!
-
Hunky, I can't find the bco on photobucket. So I'm goining to try using the direct link.

These are my grandkids. Kody and Addison. They love the water. After I spend time with them I feel so blessed.
Chocolate I like your new avatar.
Everyone have a good hump day.

I looked at the photo but could not sort out how to enlarge. They look like they are having fun in that little water play place. Is that at your house?
I feel a little out of sorts. My hand foot issue is acting up and I feel slightly useless. I wiped down the cabinets in the kitchen and it really hurt! Ugh I am trying to keep them cool to see if that helps. I carry lotion everywhere and reapply in the strangest places. It helps a bit.
I had a heart function test yesterday. I think it was the only time I went that I didn't take a nap during it. My mind was racing too much and I never got to relax. I had to stop taking my lapatinib as my bilirubin is too high. I am hoping to be able to restart with a lower dose. I have an appt to see my onc next week. This week is the third week of my cycle so since I am not taking lapatinib I have the whole week off of meds. So nice to not have to keep jumping up to get meds I forgot about etc.
My sister and her group is coming later to stay for a few days. Everyone please pray for patience for me. The kids tend to get a bit naughty and start out not listening until I catch them a few times. Hope we have a fun time but worried about it too. Kelly
-
Wyoming, the picture is very small. I think they are having a good time, and I'll bet they are a handful. Kelly, hope your visitors don't wear you down speaking of handfuls. I hope your sister has enough sense to keep those kids under her thumb. One more day of work....yea! Choc...the pup should be there? Hope you are doing ok? KK, Leggy, Bonnie...Hi to all! HunkyD
-
Kelly, I hope the kids dont drive you too nuts, cousins always seem to get into mischief.
Wyoming, the two of them look lovely, enjoy them.
Leggy, hopefully, you start feeling better with the pains you are getting. Can they help you with the narrowing problem.
HunkyD....Fridays are always good. I am calling off work tomorrow DH and I are going to see Manchester United play Celtic in Toronto. We are both big soccer fans.
Chocolate...I hope you have your puppy..... they are always a lot of fun. Are you crate training him? We did with our pups and it was easier on the housetraining.
How are things Bonnie?
Well we have had a busy July so far...We have 5 birthdays in the month, so we had a family party and I was DAT afterwards. I seem to be having issues with pain in the joints and muscles alot. Did I tell you the onc said that after 5 years of Arimidex which causes aches and pains that it will probably be arthritis. I not sure what he meant by that. Duh, I should have asked.
Enjoy the weekend. Our weather is very humid, which is unusual here. Hugs to all...Karen
-
I think I figured out to post pic.
Kelly take care of your pain. Hunky rest this weekend. Karen not only do we have cancer but we also get everything that goes with it.

Hi girls, sorry to hear everyone feels about as good as I do. This week was the week from HELL! I don't know if I told ya all about the Asst. Manager, who works in the Engineering/Landscape Dept. but he's a real jerk. He's the one who made fun of my hair in the daily meetings when my boss wasn't there. He told me my hair looked like a skunk, all white on the top and black on the sides. He likes to call me old, and says I'll be dead before I have to worry about the health care reform. When I reported a bad smell in the courtyard, on the radio he said when's the last time you took a bath? When I told my boss, he changed tactics, and now when we meet near a door, or hallway, he pushes past me. The day before yesterday, he did this at a doorway, and held his arms up so that his elbow hit my breast at exactly my incision, and pushed me backwards, so that my neck and back were jolted. I had two witness's but their guys, and who know's. He's gone from verbal to physical abuse, and I reported him. The Company probably won't do anything to him, but maybe he'll leave me alone. Thank God I'm not married to the SOB.
It's really hot, which doesn't help matters, yesterday it was 104, and I left work early....
The doctor emailed me about my x-rays, and she said the same thing the Onc.s nurse said, but said I also had bone spurs in my neck. I got an appointment for Physical Therapy, and finally got a referral to see the Chronic Pain Management Dept. whatever that means.
Wyoming, your grandkids are so cute, OMG!
KKing, I really think all this "Degenerative changes" in my neck/back are from Tamoxifen.
Tomorrow is a me day!!! I'm going to get a haircut. This Sunday, I'm having lunch with a girlfriend, who I haven't seen in a while, so it will be nice to catch up. She took her kids to Kentucky to see the grandparents, so we'll have lots of laughs. She's a funny girl. We used to work together at a garden center, and people always got us confused. We look like sisters.
Good luck, Kelly! Just enjoy it.
Love to all
-
Wyoming...oh my gosh those babies are sooo cute. Is Addies hair really red...not sure cause of monitor....she is adorable. I know you love those little ones. Not to sour up the subject....but Leggy...I just read tyour post and I want to come and take care of the son of a bitch for you. Hard to believe there are people out there like that. I am so sorry that you have to tolerate that jackass as well as struggle with pain on the job. Just amazing! I sincerly hope they shit can him. I also hope you have a nice time with your girlfriend. Tonight, I am resting in cool air conditioning...it is 99 here at 7:30pm with the promise of higher temps tomorrow. I don't think outdoor activities are in our plan. We went and got curb service at Outback tonight and I think DH's steak cooked from medium to well done on the way home....LOL! Oh, my onc is on sabbatical and they sent me a card for next appt shoving me in with a new onc. I called today and said I would wait two extra months till my onc returns. I don't think it is any big deal but, I just don't feel comfortable with someone new. If my counts go or wacko in two months time...so be it. Thats all for now girls....xxoo HunkyD
-
Hey Chocolate...I happened to see your post out on the active topics with a picture of you and your new baby. He is so cute. I know you are so happy to have him home. I just wanted to post and let you know how beautiful that snapshot is. Hugs! HD
-
Leegy I have the same words as Hunky for that jerk that is asst manager. If I was there I would hit him for you and then kick in where it hurts the most. How was your lunch?
Hunky, yes Addie's hair is red and curly. She is a cuddler but she is also stubborn. I laugh all the time when I'm with both of them. Kody is really laid back.
Chocolate where are the pictures of Diesel? I bet he has had you laughing all day. Don't you just stare at him when he is sleeping!
Kelly how is the porch coming? How was your patience with the company? I'm sure you were fun to be with.
Bonnie and Karen how are you?
Gillette is hosting the National High School Rodeo this week. There are cowboys and cowgirls every where. It really is fun to have them here. The rodeos are very good.
I have sprung a leak in my port so tomorrow I see the surgeon to see what we are going to do. I hope I can have it fixed before we leave for vacation, I hope it doesn't take as long to fix as it has BP with its leak in the Gulf.
Take care,
Wyoming

Hi girls,
Today I got the call from my boss to come down to HR. So I told the truth, and didn't cry. For that I'm proud, because I just hate it when I start crying. They said they would have to talk with the jerk and everyone who witnessed him pushing past me and hitting me with a body blow. Sometimes you just have to stick up for yourself, and not worry about the consequences. At this point I just don't care.
On the brighter side, I like my haircut, and feel like the chemo hair is gone. Two long years, it ought to be gone. I went shopping and got a really nice classy dress, that can go fairly casual to dressy, stylish but cover most of my flaws.
Then on Sunday, I had lunch with my friend and we had lot's of fun, then I looked at the people at the table next to us and it was the GM, at work....OMG! But I don't think we were talking about work then, and when I said hello, they seemed surprised as well. After got the heck out of there, Terri asked if I wanted to go to the next town, and go to Walmart to look for a Blue Bet fish that had to be a female to replace one that died, while she was house sitting, and the fish belonged to a 5yr. old little girl, who loved her fish. We ended going to about five towns, 3 Walmarts, and 6 Pet co 's. It was like a treasure hunt, and everywhere people were offering advice, calling ahead, giving directions. Not just employee, either, we met so many nice people. I bought lunch so Terri ended up buying me dinner, since it was 7pm when we gave up. All we found were male Beta's but no girls. Terri end up going the other direction North to a town and went to two shops before she found the perfect Blue Beta girl. Resurrection!!!! While we were shopping Terri bought herself a calico Bet, so we had to take it inside the restaurant with us because it was hot outside, so everyone wanted to see the fish....
Dinner time, hope you all are well, sorry about the leak Wyoming...
-
Loved the fish story. kelly
-
Leggy good for you. I also like the fish story.
Wyoming
-
The witness's to the body block, went to HR today. I smell blood in the water, but bad eggs go undetected until their broken, so we'll see.
-
Wyoming, when are you going on vacation? I thought the end of this month. What is the story on your port? Did you have to get a new one put in? Anyway...I hope you have a great time on vacation. Leggy....I hope someone lights a fire under the bad egg....now that I think about it....isn't that another way to detect a bad egg.....candling? LOL! Anyway....hope it all works out for you. We have summer here now. Our AC is running non stop. We have an older home with a huge attic that is our bedroom/office. It is hard to keep cool up here so we have to run our AC extra hard. I have night sweats to boot so I really like my bedroom cool. Guess it's a good way to spend money, in my opinion anyway. Hope you are all doing well! I have appt with PS in a couple of weeks but no onc appt until late October. Guess I am taking a little chance with no blood work for that long, but if I have to have another surgery, I know they will run at least a pre-op blood test. Thinking about ya all..Hugs....Hunkydory
-
LOL HD! No news yet, but the head of the HR isn't in until tomorrow, and then I hope the roof falls in on him, if anyone deserves it, it's him.
-
I just hope nothing "hits" you when the roof falls on the other guy. What do you think will happen? Kelly
-
Leggy my hubby is in HR and he was angry that you had to put up with your jerk. You have my support. Keep us posted.
Hunky I leave for vacation on Sat. My AC has ran in the evening even when it was cool out. I'm like with the night sweats. One minute I can't breath because I'm so hot then the next minute I'm cuddled under the covers. I have my port repaired or replaced on Aug. 3rd. My surgeon said she could do it under a local.
Talk to everyone tomorrow.
Wyoming
-
Aloha!!! Sure wish I was going with you! But then you and the hubby might not have as much fun!!!
Hd I just can't imagine another surgery, but if I got a new set of boobs, I'd jump at the chance, now.
Hi, Kelly, about the the assistant manager, I think the Co. won't do anything. He has been put on notice however, his attitude has been changed, and he stays the hell away from me, so that's good. But I hope they give him a pee test, cause he gets high on the way to work, at work, and on the way home. The problem is he parties with his employee's, and it's just a matter of proof. Times are tough and the company just might be looking for big fish again and I'm a little fish. The season hasn't been as good as they thought, and they had their sights set low. But they probably think I'm on my last legs, and they would be right. I'm tired, and it's getting harder everyday, even though I've cut my hours back. He probably will get a raise, however. That's the way it usually works.
Thanks for listening
-
hi gals, sorry for my extended absence. seems like only yesterday i was here. oops. that's motherhood for ya.
Leggy, that asst, mgr should be called an AssMgr. he is an a$$!!! They are probably just hoping you'll quit. stupid boys club. You did the right thing! If I lived there I'd sent my dh over to sort him out for you. Some people just push and push and push thinking you're weak. Well - You are Not weak!!!!
Wyoming, I'm excited for your trip, so you must be too. Are you? You leave tomorrow!!!!
Have you been shopping, dieting, waxing, packing etc. in preparation? Just think of no AC because you'll have cool ocean breezes. Ahhhh....and mai tai's. yum!
Hunky, it's good to hear from you more. You sound more chipper than the last few weeks. Hope you are feeling good and enjoying summer. Thanks for the comments on my Diesel thread. I was having trouble uploading pics so i thought i'd try another tactic and open a thread with a new avatar. For a while I was having no trouble posting pics, then it changed. i'll keep trying.
Diesel is amazing! A little alligator right now, nipping at fingers and ankles, but we just bought a training video and will work on that over the next few days. i'll let you know if there is improvement. He is into everything!!! plant soil all over the floor, dish towels chewed into pieces, but so far only two "accidents" peeing on the rug. I try to keep an eye on him, but obviously I'm a bit lax. LOL. I think I need a new computer just to store all the pics and videos. LOL mayeb if i didnt have a camera in my hand everywhere we went, i'd be able to discipline more. i guess there's time for that.
well, that's all for now. (thank goodness you say!) lol. hugs all, Choc.
-
Diesel chased this icecube all around the floor before finally eating it. what a ham! I have the video on photobucket if you want to see it; rottiegrl2009 is my I.D.
-
Chocolate what a cutie. I just laughed when I saw his picture. I can see why you are lax and have a camera in your head.
Leggy hang in there. The A$$mgr had better stay away if he knows what is good for him.
I'm almost ready to go. I have bought a few new clothes, and swimsuit. I have gone and got a spray on tan. I didn't want to blind the Hawaiians. No really I'm that white. LOL My problem is deciding what to take and how many shoes to bring. I never know what I want to wear until the day I need it.
I will think of you while I'm gone well maybe a little bit. Everyone have a great week.
Love ya, Wyoming
-
OK, I so glad I logged on, cause you girls brightened my really gloomy day. Choc. you puppy is so cute. Wyoming, have a wonderful vacation.
HR, interviewed the two guys I work with, and they said it looked like an accident. They also smoke pot with the asst. manager, so I'm not surprised, but definitely disappointed. I think your right Choc. they were expecting me to quit, and I didn't but I don't know what else I can do. I guess I might as well join the party. I give up.
-
Oh gawd Chocolate. I watched the ice cube video...It was sooo cute. He could not find it once under him. It made me smile big at work. That usually doesn't happen. I have still been so tired and having back pain after being on feet all day. Leggy, I am sorry that birds of a feather fly together. It just pisses me off what you are dealing with. I don't know how to tell you to handle this issue. I have never had to deal with such assinine people at my work. Wow...Wyoming...I hope you have a fabulous time. If you don't have something you want to wear when you are there...buy it! Amen! LOL! I have never done a spray tan but seems very appropriate for your vacay! Hope you have perfect weather with the island breeze like Choc says. Would you please do me a favor and drink one of those pretty but powerful little umbrella drinks? If there was a way I could buy one for YOU....I would. Hope you have a netbook or something so you can sign on and tell us all the fun you are having. Okole maluna! Hunkydory
-
Have a great vacation Wyoming. Enjoy all those drinks with the umbrellas...I always ask for a chichi and it looks different everytime.
Leggy....that sucks. The boys club never dies does it. I hope they do get rid of the ASSmgr.
Diesel is adorable, Chocolate. I will check out the video...he does look mischevious. Dont you just love them no matte what they do.
HunkyD..Glad you are sounding better. I know what you are saying. Onc doesn't want to see me until next July. He figures I can go a year now....I hope to hell he is right.
We are on vaca after one more week of work. Two weeks off, it will feel so good. We are going camping again for the week. Tonight I am sitting outside using my daughters netbook, it is so humid here..
Hope all the Junies are doing well. Talk to you soon. Hugs Karen
-
Hi everyone, yes I am still around just never seem to get a chance to sit down and write something on here. I finally thought no way time to say hi and let everyone know that I have a very boring life lol. My oldest daughter is coming out the beginning of Aug. and we are all going camping for 3 or 4 days, and I mean camping no trailers or motor homes just plain old tents. The only bathroom is an outhouse. I asked my daughter how I am going to manage in the middle of the night and she suggested putting a rope on her wrist and one on mine from tent to tent of course and when I have to go just pull on the rope and she will come with me lol I don't think so it would take more than a rope to wake her up, can't wait that long.
Chocolate I just love your dog diesel he is such a cutie will have to go and look at the video. They are so much fun and so much company they can always make you feel better.
Wyoming have a nice vacation and a couple of drinks for me, I will have a pinacoloda and make sure you have at least 2 of them. If you do as everyone is telling you to do you should have a real good time for sure.
LeggyJ if I was you I would have an accident at work and accidentally go like you are falling except come up with your knee right between his legs!! Then just turn and say sorry it was just an accident.
KKing enjoy your camping trip and keep cool.
Kelly and HunkD hope you guys are having a good summer and feeling not to bad, I know there are always those days.
Everyone take care!!!!!
-
Bonnie, your a mind reader!!!! We've missed you. Hey about the camping thing and the bathroom visits, Cabella's Sporting Goods, has a thing you can use and stand upright and pee. I understand it takes a little practice. My days of being able to squat out in the great outdoors are over, I wouldn't be able to get up without a handicap hand rail, and I don't think they have them in the outhouses....LOL
