Emend/Aprepitant side effects

Has anyone in this group been taking Emend/Aprepitant? Are there any side effects?

    I took Emend during chemo and it was ok. No problem.

    Does your wife have any family history of breast cancer? You can ask her to join this board. I think it is hard to talk to people in your friend or family circles because they don't understand why your wife is going thru. But joining this board can help her. There are so many nice, loving women here who can share and help her.

    My wife has absolutely no history of breast cancer. There are a couple of reasons why I'mm doing this on her behalf - 1. Right now with the chemo every 2 weeks, she hardly has the strength to even surf the net. 2. She's really low given her diagnosis and the fact that she has had to quit work because of the long commute to and fro. 3. I'm not sure I want her to be exposed to all the information available out here which may not always be nice... The last thing I want is for her to be any more scared than she already is.

    Hi SOM 14,

     I took Emend for all 5 rounds of chemo and did not have one minute of nausea and no unpleasant side effects. For me, it worked very well.

    I did experience the usual side effects from the TAC drugs, including mouth sores. Some women swear by eating Popsicles during chemo as a preventative for mouth sores. I read this after chemo, so I never tried it myself.
