Dealing with Breast Cancer and Additional Health Issues

So many of the women here seem to have an additional diagnosis or two, whether thyroid issues, diabetes,  multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, or arthritis, not to mention depression, and there isn't really a good place to find information easily about how these diseases and their treatments can impact breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Could we possibly have a forum under the "Connecting with Others Who Have a Similar Diagnosis" or the  "Support  and Community Connections" heading for threads discussing dealing with a diagnosis of other significant diseases in addition to breast cancer?   Those diagnoses can have a major impact on treatment options and decisions, and it should be easy to find the threads dealing with them.  Right now it is not.

There are a couple of threads dealing with having Diabetes and Breast Cancer under the Older Women's Forum, but many of us dealing with both of those issues are not in that age category.  Having that kind of thread easily findable in the forum index would be a help for many of the women on these boards.

I don't know if this would fit within the forum you're proposing, but I've been thinking for quite awhile that we ought to have a resting place for the subject of bone health-osteoporosis-calcium supplements-vitamin D-bisphosphonates (etc.).  There already are quite a few threads dealing individually with some of those topics; but the threads are all over the place -- the Hormonal Therapy forum (because of the effects of the AI's), the Alternative Therapy forum, the Stage IV forum, and others.

I think it would be great to be able to talk about the common and important "additional health issue" of thinning bones -- prevention, diagnosis, and treatment -- in one place.  It's something most women will be facing at some point; and, for many of us, our BC treatment has accelerated the process and increased the threat.

Somehow it just doesn't seem right to debate the merits of Vitamin D2 vs. D3 and discuss DEXA scan results on the "Moving Beyond Cancer" forum...

I know it seems like we're getting a lot of threads, but it seems to be helping people navigate and easing some of the former tensions between posters.

good idea for the bone thread
