Moderators Deleting Postings

Site Moderators-

I am just curious as to what is the procedure when a moderator deems a post inappropriate?  I received a PM from someone saying they were a moderator notifying me they are removed some of my posts.  They did not say which thread, why it was deleted and have never responded back to two separate PM's I sent asking for this information.

I told her I was not aware that I had done anything wrong, but did apologize.  I did want to see what she deemed inappropriate, though, if I was going to avoid repeating it in the future.

Just wondered how this is normally handled?

    Kate:  Who sent you the PM?  I just looked through all of your posts and nothing has been deleted.  This sounds very odd to me...It might have gone to you inadvertently - by mistake.

    I too would be interested in this. I received a pm from the mod saying that a private message I wanted to send, hadn't been sent. So she was pming me-with a solicitation to write a letter of support to some organisation!! I ignored it.

    I think someone is sending out bogus private messages....Kate's and Elaine's experiences sound suspect...

    That is definitely suspect though. Feel free to send me the name of the person who sent this to you. Or, copy and paste the message to me, and we'll look into this.

    Sound bogus to me too. I always presumed that if someone reported a post for non-compliance with the boards rules, that the mods would delete it without comment. Kate, I looked back at your recent posts and don't see that any were deleted. 

    What was the user name on the PM? The user name for the mods is moderators.

    Sent you a pm now Melissa with it in it's entirety.Although suspect, it did say it came from "moderators"!
