Deja' Vu in other breast...need support please

Options

Hi all....I was dx last October IDC Rt breast.  I am doing well...finished rads, on Tamoxifen.  When I was dx in the rt breast I also could feel a "thickening" in my other breast...the mammogram was normal and noone else could feel it.  In December I thought it was bigger...my Oncologist felt "something" and sent me for an MRI which was normal...fibroglandular tissue scattered around.  This thickening area is now more pronounced...it feels like a hard rope (my other breast cancer felt like a squishy grape).  I was going to try to ignore it the rest of the summer but talked myself into making an appointment with my surgeon next Tuesday.

The feelings I felt when I hung up the phone with the surgeon's office are overwhelming.  I am shaking, nauseated....I would probably feel worse but am on Effexor for Tamox. side effects.  I don't want to tell my friends and family to worry them so I came here.

What are the chances this is cancer if the MRI in December was normal?  Can Tamoxifen affect breast tissue?  Can someone please remind me that 80% of lumps are benign!!??

Thanks for listening...

Wendy

{{{Wendy}}} 80% of lumps are B9!  After going through your first dx and tx, it's really hard not to worry and be really anxious.  But I'm still going to tell you not to worry until there is something to worry about, and that means an official confirmation that it is 'something'.  You're doing the right thing by not ignoring it, and I know the hardest part is the waiting.  Hang in there, and stay away from Dr. Google!  Hugs, She

How did you know I was seeing Dr Google?  LOL.  I also need to stop poking it.  This is exactly how I acted with the other one.

You are right...I am not going to worry without official confirmation!

     Thank you.
