Great bathing suit

Good point Barbara !
The one i wear with the enhancers is from Land's End. It's a tankini style top, kind of fitted with gathers. So the way it fits keeps things in place.
I have other suits - one piece- with rather large pockets. For those, i use smaller scrubbies (face size)
I don't have a pool so really didn't want to spend a lot of $$
Lots of trial & error but i'm slowly getting comfortable with myself.

I haven't tried any forms with a swim suit yet....I am too cheap to spend the money....I did buy some extra bath scrubbies to try the idea I found on one of the threads on here, but haven't gotten around to it yet.....I should, though, but really, none of my own suits would work well with them....so I haven't done it yet.
I did get some tops at Target, that were actually running tops (they rang up as "yoga" tops)....they are a little longer than tankini tops, and made from the same fabric as swim suits. They had some that were horizonal stripes (which is GREAT for an optical illusion for a flat chest) ......and the top was even lined. The back had a racing type back with a little gathering, so it was actually cute. Of course, there's no way to put in any type of form, but it was CHEAP. I found one clearanced for $8. and the other was $12.99, Both went with bottoms I already had from other suits (basic black and basic navy). Unless you saw me sideways, you wouldn't even realize I was flat. We went to an amusement park last month, where they had a water park. We were at the water park for several hours, and at first I was very self conscious. I was constantly looking around to see if anyone noticed (this was my very first time....my BMX was 1/6/10)...no one even gave a 2nd look, or a quick glance back or anything. Of course, I think it really helps that I'm really tall and thin to begin with.....but that day, I gained a great deal of confidence.
Will it last? Who knows.,.....but at least for now, it's working for me. When we went on vacation, I even wore my "flat" suits to the pool to lay out....and I only noticed a teen age girl looking over my way, but I really couldn't tell if she was looking at me, or just at something else. But I figured it didn't matter. I didn't know her. She didn't know me. I'd never see her again anyway
And besides, I beat BC!!! And I'm 51 years old...ha!But, that's just me. What's good for me isn't necessarily good for someone else......and what's good for me this year, may not be good next year. But at least for now, this is a very workable solutiion, and it's a thrifty one for me, in the midst of all my other expenses.
blessings...robin

Cute! I have been meaning to look into this topic. I am just in the process of getting fitted for my foobs. Thanks for the link! All the suits prior to this that I have seen have been so old looking. I am only 33, and I may not have boobs, but I don't want to look 83! (Sorry if that is offensive to anyone. I would give anything to live until 83!)

Hi, all!
I just wanted to let you all know that a store named Lady Grace has so many mastectomy bathing suits in so many styles and sizes that I couldn't believe it. I had never been there before and sure wish I had known last summer before ordering suits online. UGH!!!
Happy summer!!!!!

Janice,
Which location did you go to?

Hi Erica!
I live in NH. This one is in Salem, NH. I think they also specialize in Mastectomy bras. If there isn't one near you, maybe you could check them out online. Good luck!

Thanks, Janice. I live in the Boston area, so there are a couple of Lady Grace stores that are near me. I find the selection varies a bit, so that's why I wondered where you go.

One thing that I have found is that if you get a regular bathing suit that has removable pads in it you can put little swim forms that women with breast use to add a size in them. I found this website that has a ton of removable pad bathing suits and at the top of the page it has those swim forms I was talking about.

I am 8 months post BMX and have recently gotten AMOENA bra size 36A with 2 size 2 AMOENA prosthesis-- I was told that I could wear the prosthesis also while swimming so the other day I put them in my Lands End swimming suit and they seemed to work well for me.
