yes...copy to test first.. then bring it here. Worked for me.
-
Okay.....haven't checked here for a week.....stripping and pole dancing, huh? Hey, Jazzy! Do you think a couple of Jazzercise instructors are up to such things.....lol? As long as we're in this thing together, count me in!
-
I had a checkup with my oncologist yesterday. Since he has taken me off the Tamoxifen, he wants me to start on Arimidex in September. I'm not crazy about the idea. One of the common side effects is joint pain. He said that 60% of people on it have some kind of joint pain, enough that they need a Tylenol or Motrin. Another 20% have pain so bad they have to go off the Arimidex. That's 80% of patients with pain sufficient that they have to take something. THAT is not going to work with my active lifestyle. And then there's the risk of osteoporosis. I'm not sure where I'm going with this. I may see my naturopath and see what her take is. She is not totally anti- traditional medicine so she may be a good sounding board. I need to do some more research and see what the morbidity stats are for women who DON'T go on it. sigh Oh, and then there's the fact that is $238 per month!
-
Mona, they JUST came out with a generic for arimidex!!! This means cheaper!! YAY! I started taking celebrex for my joint/muscle/bone pain and it TOTALLY WORKS!! It's like a MIRACLE DRUG for me!!!
Let us know what you find out, since obviously I coudl benefit from your findings!!!
HUGS! Jazzy
-
Mona.. Jaz... and all gals like you who have to take these drugs for 5 yrs.. juggling them. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I feel for you. You have to really watch your bones... FIRSTMATE/ROBIN here on BCO and a Vegas go'er, is a good lady to talk to about this. PM her if you wanna get her take on it.
I just wanted to lend a HUG Mona! Sorry you have to make these choices now. It must be SO hard.

I'm one of those girls now on Arimidex-was switched to it after my full hysterectomy last Feb. I of course had a major side effect from the Tamoxifen-got a lump under my right arm pit & swelled under both knee caps-all had to be checked for blood clots-Thank goodness there wasn't any,but still to this day after being on Arimidex-the swellings haven't gone away. I'm not one to go on with what is happening to my body with this drug cause I'm still playing the healing game from surgery to surgery, but I really think I'm lucky so far due to I haven't felt any joint pain & I know what that feels like, it was a major side effect from the Herceptin & it crippled me, so I was taken off that after only 7 treatments. My Heart goes out to all of you having to gone thru more pain to take care of what put us all here in the 1st place. I can't believe the price that your having to pay-we were & are lucky enough that when Bryan(hubby) was employed the union found a wonderful place to get meds that if you have to take forever, at a great price. I get 3 months worth for the price of 2 & at a great rate. I have 5 different medications that I'm on for life-we would be in the poor house if it wasn't for this place & they are not genertic-I don't do well on subsituates. Were Cobra now, so still able to stay union & with the same med company!! So..I have good news with that & feel lucky & blessed 0:) Now we need to figured a way to make sure the rest of the TA TA SISTA'S can get what they need at afordable prices & be painfree!!!
89 days till Vegas Girls... WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Wishin all a safe & Brite 4th of July!!! Take care Chow XOXO Susie
-
Just got my plane ticket to Vegas!! Can't wait.
-
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Happy 4th Ladies.. Be safe.. have some fun... BLOW STUFF UP!! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
Mona, Wow I didn't realize arimidex is so bad about joint pain. I've been getting some joint/muscle pain in the past couple weeks and I think it's from the tamoxifen. I'm trying to increase mineral intake (calcium, magnesium and potassium) and my husband suggested using dsmo for the pain, it can be found in health food stores and you use it topically. Julie
-
Yay Judy - glad you got your ticket!!!
For joint pain, a natural thing that works for a lot of folks (and pets for that matter) is glucosamine/chondroitin. Both my husband & I take it and it keeps the creakiness at bay. I'm curious mona about why they took you off tamox and want to switch you. My onc mentioned the possibility if I become menopausal in next several yrs (I'm 47), but otherwise its tamox for me.
About cutting and pasting - sometimes your computer is set up not to allow some sites to access your clipboard. Mine asks me if I want BCO to have access and I have to say "allow" (even if what I cut was from BCO), and then I have to do ctrl-v (paste) again. Maybe you can check the preferences or options page for your web browser and see if there's a setting you can change.

JUDY.... WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... see you in Vegas baby.. ~or~ before....:)
Ladies... Gisella is working HARD on our Itenerary... I have seen what she is working on.
NOW....
WE NEED A SHOW OF HANDS HERE.
THIS is MUCHO important.
ARE you 100% on board with what " us" your TATA sisters are doing this WHOLE weekend?????
OR are you going to do things on your own schedule?
We had BOTH last year..
THIS YEAR.. the itinerary is MUCH MORE TOGETHER as a SISTERHOOD...( which I WAS HOPING FOR)..... but to pull this off... with the hotels and restaurants.... we will need your 100% YES OR NO's
If you say YES... you are 100% with the TaTa's... then you will be counted in the WHOLE weekend.
If you say NO.. you are not 100% with the TaTa's that weekend.... then you will have to see if there is room to add you..:) I know this kinda sux.. BUT.. we are a HUGE group this year....WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..... and " VEGAS" needs our commitment....HEHE!
SO.................
This means... ORDER!
IMHO... since I am ONLY going to VEGAS to be with " my girls".. I personally am ONLY planning.... WITH the SISTERHOOD!
SO.... before Gisella posts the Itinerary.....
We would like you to post .. if you are 100% with us....
I hope EVERYONE SEE THIS.. all 40 ish of us... so that GISELLA can get to booking/reserving our trip...:)
Ladies... this is a HUGE job for her..LOL.. her and DAISY6..( Stephanie)..... HUGE JOB...LOL( I am selfishly HAPPY it is NOT my job.....roflol... sorry ladies.. I only rally the troops)
LET US PLEASE make this easy for our girls..!!!!
XXXOOO

Laura, I guess I'd like to have an idea of what I am 100% committing to before I commit? I am planning to stay at our time share with my DH, but that's really only for sleeping and I'm planning to spend all of my weekend time with the Ta Ta's. I don't have our tickets yet, but I'm thinking we'll fly in, check into the hotel and then I'll meet up with you all at cocktail hour or at a "meet and greet" if one is being planned and hang with you all for Friday, Sat, Sunday. I think most are leaving on Monday, correct? I'm staying til Friday with DH.
cs7777, my onco took me off Tamoxifen because I had non-stop vaginal bleeding for 6 months. I had an endometrial biopsy and a D&C which were both normal. I still haven't decided what I'm going to do about the Arimidex yet.
-
Mona.. then it sounds like you are going to be with us 100%. there are things planned for morning... and night... the mid day is open for shopping and pool.
So.. you are in.. 100%...
-
OH.. plans are only Friday0Sunday..
Monday........go home day.....free to roam and visit..
Last Get together is Sunday night... LATE...Saying goodbye to those we might not see in the morning.
-
Laura - Count me in as a 100% TaTa!!!!
Julie - I had joint pain from tamox pretty bad initially. It went away, then resurfaces every few months. It's definitely better now, though, than at first. I couldn't even hold my coffee cup 'cause my fingers hurt so much. Now I'm just afraid that since I haven't had a period since my dx 18 months ago, my onc will decide to put me on an AE......way worse SE's, as you've read about here....guess I'll find out next month at my checkup.....

Good morning ladies, hope all of you are doing great. Below I am going to post a very tentative schedule. Bars and restaurants may change. I cannot start making any phone calls or reservations until I get an accurate count of the people interested in going. I believe the same is with Stephanie for brunch. I would please please ask you that once you say you are going to stick with it. The reason I am saying that is because some of the places may waive some of the charges but they get really upset if the count is not close to the count I give them when I make a reservation.
Anniesse is helping me secure other options especially for Friday (thank you, thank you Annie).
Friday
6:00 pm or 6:30pm Meet and Greet plus dinner at Serendipity in Vegas (This is restaurant is int he corner of Flamingo and Vegas Blvd, it is actually a Cesar's hotel restaurant next to the fountains)......
9:00 pm Coyote Ugly at NY-NY, fun bar but pretty loud and rowdy. Last year I was able to get them to waive cover charge and we did not end up going because the Piano bar was way too fun to leave
I think in our way to Coyote Ugly we can stop at the stairs at Aria (look at my profile pic. in facebook and maybe get a picture of the entire (or most of the group). Any other suggestions for a photo op are welcome
Saturday
9:00am Breakfast, I have not called the hotel to see what restaurant can accommodate us and maybe a discount, if everything fails we can always do the breakfast we did last year, Big Kahuna we will have coupons for that
after breakfast, Pool time or shopping time,
6:00 pm drinks and possible dinner (My suggestion is Paris, they have a great Italian restaurant ) open to suggestions for any other places
9:00 pm NY-NY Piano bar, now for this I need a accurate count. I also need to know that once a person commits to go they are going to go. Last year we had several cancellations and the piano bar was kind of upset at me for this.
Sunday
AM on your own to recuperate, have breakfast or hang by the pool.
Mid day, brunch at the Bellagio, once again I believe Stephanie needs an accurate count so we can get a discount
PM, Freemont Street, show or whatever everybody wants to do
Late evening, departure drinks. I will try to find a bar that stays open pretty late. If I can get a count, it would be even better.
Please take a look at this and let me know what you think. Anytime we are going to go as a group we need a headcount to make reservations. If anybody would like to volunteer to put together the headcount I would really appreciate it.
I believe this is going to be a great trip.
Hope you are having a great week
Hugs
Gisella

I'm in for all Gisella! (That's why I am going!
-
I'm 100% Ta-Ta for the weekend!
-
OK Gisella I'm in for taking a head count.
Everybody PLEASE PM me and let me know which you are COMMITTED to do.
Friday:
- Meet and Greet at Serendipity's
- Coyote Ugly at NY-NY
Saturday:- 9:00am Breakfast
- 6:00 pm drinks and possible dinner
- 9:00 pm NY-NY Piano bar
Sunday:
- Mid day, brunch at the Bellagio
- Late evening, departure drinks
OK girls please think about this BEFORE you PM me, so we won't be making too many changes.
VEGAS HERE WE COME!!!!
THE TATA SISTERHOOD ROCKS!!!
HUGS! Jazzy

This plan looks great, but I would love to see a show because I never get to see shows at home. Is Friday a better night to do this? it seems like Saturday is the big piano bar evening, the one that is not to be missed.
I am so show starved I'd basically see any show (but I won't go to these ones: Donny and Marie, Jay Leno or any show with puppets). Go to www.vegas.com and look for shows for Oct 1 - some of them are La Reve, KA Cirque de Soleil, Joan Rivers, Blue Man Group and Menopause the Musical.
My top three choices are probably Menopause the Musical (5:30 showtime) and KA Cirque de Soleil (7 or 9:30 showtime) and Joan Rivers (9:00 showtime). Of course there is also the Chippendales Show (8 and 10:30) Can you PM me with your show preferences, taking note of the available times? I'll select the show with the most interest and book it for the folks who want to see it.
-
I think there is time in the schedule to see a show on Sunday night, no? I love Cirque and would love to go do that -- maybe that night will be divided between Fremont Street and show goers? Anyway I have seen KA but have not seen O and would love to see that...
-
Jazzy -- I know I already PM'd you that I'm in for everything -- but I'm wondering if we should all know what (approximately) each of these events might cost (like Coyote Ugly and the Piano Bar) before people have to commit? In case cost is an issue?
-
Lilah reminded me that some are seeing shows Sunday night - I can't do that b/c I leave that evening. If everyone is going Sunday, I'll see a show during another visit.
