Essiac Tea?

Options

Does anyone have any knowledge, experience, information about this tea? Heard about it through a friend...hype or hope? I know it won't be a cure, but will it help lower the odds of recurrence/spread? Any info would be helpful. Thanks guys!

There is some confusion between Essiac Tea and Flor-essence.  Make sure you get the original Essiac if you decide to do it.  I believe Renee's face is on the cover of the box and there should be only 4 ingredients.  It didn't help my husband with colo-rectal cancer.  I didn't bother using it. Some people swear by it.  Hope this helps and good luck :)

Hi, I just started researching this "Flo-Essence"tea yesterday as it came highly reccomended from a women that works at our local Mother's Market. She could not say enough positive things about it and told me that numerous cancer patients used it with amazing results. I have read some positive remarks about it BUT with further searching I also came upon some NOT SO GOOD information for us concerned with BREAST Cancer. The following is just one bit I found, but it's enough for me. Hope it helps!! I am returning my unopened bottle this afternoon. What's that saying?? "When something is too good to be true, it usually is!!??" Ughhh....:(

    Increased Cancer Growth

According to the American Cancer Society, Flor-Essence may stimulate the growth of some types of cancer. The organization notes that Flor-Essence has never been studied as a treatment for cancer in humans. Furthermore, laboratory tests have suggested that its estrogen-like compounds facilitate the growth of breast tumors.

I have started taking this tea since last 2 weeks, but the most important factor is that we need to take care of other things too in diet and our daily food intake.  This tea is not going to work by itself.  email me if you need further details.

There is a book that tells all about the history and use of this tea.   The Essiac Report by Richard Thomas.

There is an incredible amount of DISinformation on the internet and in books about the history of Essiac Tea.  One particular bit of info which I found on several sites is that the Cdn Dept of Health and Welfare (now called Health Canada, similar to FDA) purposely got rid of all info regarding Caisse's successes, presumably as a "sop" to big pharma.

In actuality, the top cancer researchers in Canada - at the behest of the Canadian public - conducted clinical trials using Caisse's supposed formulation.  Problem was, they weren't given the exact amounts....Caisse had an on-going battle with the medical profession.  She supposedly sold her recipe to a private corporation and then claimed that this corporation was co-erced by the gov't to suppress it.  Whether or not it would have proven to be the cure for some cancers, one will never know.

BTW, I was around when these trials were conducted, and I well remember the hype surrounding Essiac.  The CEO of the private corporation mentioned above was a close friend of my family.

I doubt that Essiac Tea, drunk in moderation, would do any harm.  Whether or not it will do any good is another question (except, of course, for its manufacturerWink).
