After I was diagnosed in April I had an MRI of the breasts (standard). The MRI picked up a "likely benign cyst" in the right upper lobe of my liver.  The Onc I had at the time ordered an ultrasound which showed a "mildly complex cyst" and two lesions - recommend CT protocol.  So the CT showed two hemangiomas and a "slightly complex cyst" round and well-marginated and to recommend follow up periodically.  Today I saw my new Oncologist and we went over my treatment plan.  I felt great about everything - like we were finally moving along.  I asked about the cyst on my liver and when we would re-check and he said probably after chemo.  He said it was highly unlikely to be a met.  My bloodwork is fine.  He did a quick exam on me and felt my liver area and wants to do a PET scan now.  He said he felt my liver is slightly enlarged.  I asked if he thought it was a met and he just said "Let's just be safe."  I have no pain and the other scans did not pick up enlargement.  WTF.  I'm freaking out again - it seems like this never stops.  I've had two surgeries the past month - could the enlarged liver be a result of all the anesthesia?  I take no meds - just multivitamins.  I have to wait for insurance to approve the PET before I can even schedule it.

In Cognito - I can sympathize with you.  The scans I had done before I started treatment 3 weeks ago also showed a "spot" on my liver.  I am having PET scan next week to check it out.  Onc thinks it's just a cyst but wants to be sure.  It seems like it's always something.  Let me know when your scan is scheduled.
