I've had DCIS with 1.5mm microinvasion, but no one ever did a Her2 on it because they say, being less than .5mm, I supposedly don't need it.  Does that sound right to all of you?  I've had a bmx, and am on Evista, but that's it for me I guess....I've gone from worrying about cancer in my breast to worrying about metastasis!  Any...um...reassuring words there?

So far this seems like the board closest to my situation!  Can I stay?

All my best to all of you!  Laura

Laura, of course you can!! Sorry you had to, though!!

Look at my signature, and you'll see my dx, and my treatment. I am now 4 years out, and so far am doing good. I am hoping to do Evista after I finish Femara. It is said to be promising for prevention. Although I did have an invasive tumor, I did have one instance of DCIS also.

I don't know if you needed your tumor tested or not. The jury's all over the place as to how to treat the earliest of the early. I wanted Herceptin, but didn't get it as they said that my tumor was treated aggresively enough (hope so), and that at the TIME, it was only given to Stages III & IV. Wouldn't you know that 6 months later, it was suggested that all with HER2 receive it. Ahh, well...not to be for me.

You fears will settle down with time. Be vigilant, and stay intuned with your body. I'm not saying to worry over little things....you common sense will tell you when....or better still, come back to the boards, and all your sistahs will help you make decisions. This place is great for getting the information you need.

Hopefully this will help a little. Here's to your continued good health.

    Jennifer
