achy breast and fear
Coming up on 2 years since diagnosis on July1. the same breast that I was dx with is achy, sore, sensitive. Has it always been this way since rads? and I'm just more sensitive to it now. Doesn't help that my husband was dx with stage 4 colon cancer in Feb. These anniversary dates are a killer. thought I would breeze through but am anxious. don't have mammo til august.
Any words of encouragement would be appreciated.

Ahh,,the disease that just keeps on giving. Doesn't have to be the disease itself...fear's just as bad. Hugs to you and so sorry about your dh's dx. That certainly doesn't help. I didn't have rads, so I really can't say with certainty if what you are feeling is normal, but after reading these boards for so long, I guess anything is possible with cancer and treatments.
Someone will come along and give you a better answer for now. Have you had your yearly checkup yet? If so, then maybe another conversation is in order with him/her.
Many thoughts and prayers for you and your husband,

I had rads and my breast was very sore and tender for 3 years. I am in 5th year now and having issues again with it. It just seems to never go away. Also if I am out is sun that breast will get red. So be careful. Oh and yes very sensitive. I am sorry about your husband. This does truly suck...

My breast and axilla area are still sore from time to time, I think it's due to the nerve endings being cut and rads so try not to worry:)

I have the same. I am 10 months out of chemo and 61/2 months out of rads and my breast never stopped hurting me since the large lumpectomy I had (and re-excision). I have a total of 20 clips left in there and I often wonder if that is the reason. I just had my 6 month check with radiologist and my three month with onc - and both did breast exams, and by the time I got home that afternoon, I was in so much pain I could almost cry. Going back to Breast Care Center in Sept for my next 6 month mammo (can't wait for this baby again - I hated them before surgery!) and am going to demand an answer as to why I have so many dang clips left in me when I had only a 1.2 cm tumor removed. She did have to go back in for 2 clean margins that had dcis in them, but- jeez - this poor breast is still one very sensitive area.
