TN stage 4 now ned w/ PARP
Ladies after 5 months of Gem/Carbo/PARP two weeks-twice a week-one week off, I am now NED!!! OMG I went from thinking the very worst to this. Its huge. I just found out that I org had 9 tumors in my liver, the largest was 4.3, and I had 3 on my kidneys, the largest there was 2.9. The only thing left is some scar tissue on my left kidney. I'm still in shock.
They bad thing is that they have nothing in place for this occurance as of yet because its still in trial phase, so BiPar was just sent all the data from all the trials around the nation and they are suppose to be making an amendment to the trial for these sort of things. I dont want to be on this until I become toxic and then we wont have this in our arsenal any longer. So as of now I'm still going to be chugging along until they say hey lets take a break, because if I demand a break and it comes back then whos to say I'll get back on the PARP until its FDA approved. I was just asked by my research nurse that MDA wants me to do a piece for a cancer publication. How exciting.
Its possible ladies, it is possible. Hopefully I'll stay ned for a long while. I have two little boys who need their mommy by golly. Must keep going!

Congrates. Are your BRCA positive? Does the PARP only help BRCA positives?

Newalex, PARP has shown great promise for triple negatives and BRCA, so no, you don't have to be BRCA positive to get into the trials. Maryiz

That is such FANTASTIC news for you and I hope others, as well!!!!! I knew that the PARP studies had begun, but haven't heard how they are going. Do you know how it is going for any other participants?
