Tracy and Gina - love the new new Avatars. You both look great. I am 6 weeks PFC and have just noticed hair growth the last few days. I am looking forward to hair. I don't wear my wig much anymore.
Tracy - Good luck on the job interview. Your 3 Day team is amazing. I hope to raise at least $5,000. There are a lot of people that I have not reached out to for a donation. When I don't want to walk, I just remember all the money they have donated on my behalf.
My hysterectomy is Friday and I have to start a clear liquid diet tomorrow at noon and then nothing after midnight on Thursday. Surgery sure is fun!!

hi all,
I just got back from getting my swim prostetic at Mary Catherines and got some information on the Susan G Komen event. I found out that the displays and speakers are going to be on Sat. from 10am till 6pm and the only thing goinng on on Sun. are the different races Just thought I'd pass it on for those that might not be aware.
Hugs and love to all of you,
Laurie

Glad to hear so many folks will make it for the 5K. I just found out I'm in the "top 100 fundraisers" group, woohoo! I get a special t-shirt and treats and everything
Maybe we can meet at the Survivor's walk and do the walk together?
Susan, I'm going over to pick up t-shirts for my team--do you want me to pick yours up?
Everyone looks gorgeous!

Lorrie .... a head shaving party .... LOVE IT !!!!!!!!
Just a quick check in, how great to see so many of the "Crazy Gals" are planning on walking Sunday. My son and I are also walking and we're planning on meeting up with my 3Day friend/tentmate and "13 year" survivor, along with her grandson. This will be the first time she has done this event, although has walked the 3 Day/60 Miler twice before. I assume we'll probably see some familiar faces on the ferry (havn't looked at the schedule yet).
As of tonight, we still havn't been mailed our T-shirts although we requested and paid for the shipping, so looks like I'll be seeing some at the festivities on Saturday as well. If any of you get the chance to see the presentation by Debra Jarvis (on Sat) it will probably be well worth your time. I got the chance to meet her at the retreat sponsored by SCCA last fall and she is very entertaining !!!
I'll be keeping my eyes out for some familiar faces and hope you all have a memorable walk, and it should be easier to spot a few faces during the survivor parade as they typically line you up according to how many years you've been a survivor. Seems like most of us will be in the first or second group. Have fun all !!!!
-
Tracy - love your pic! I wish I looked like my pic all the time...but sadly that is not possible.
Look forward to seeing some of you gals this Sunday! By the way, does anyone know if its OK to have kids in the survivor parade? If not, we will have to skip it.
-
Hi all! I am planning on heading over today to get my shirt for the Race as well as see Deborah Jarvis. As far as tomorrow, I think texting is the way to go as we could barely here our phones ring let alone talk to people as it is so crowded! I have never done the survivor parade - done the race at least 10 times, but last year was my first as a "survivor" and I didn't stay for that.
Gina - I don't know the answer - I would think you could have your kids with you....
Jean - that is wonderful that you have rasied so much! I hope to see you there, or today!
Lorrie - hope you are recovering from your surgery well.
Gina and Tracy - Agree - love the pics!
If anyone wants my cell number, send me a PM - otherwise, I will look for you all at the survivor parade - I will be in the 1-2 years with many of y'all....

Hello All!
Wow Wow Wow is all I can say about being a part of the Survivors Group in the Race for the Cure today. So great to see Frosty, Aprilgirl1, Golfer779. The energy of it all was so incredibly emotional. I was so glad that you guys were there to share it with me. Loved the closing song "I Will Survive". Such a true statement for all of us!!
I can't wait until the next meetup we have.
Take Care everyone.

When is the next get together?
-
That was an emotional end to the race. Wow. It was great to see all of you there! It is almost the end of the quarter, so another gathering is looming.
-
Hi Ladies,
Sounds like you all had a great time at the Race for the Cure. You are all correct, it is definitely time for a get together. Here are a few dates, let me know what works for everyone.
Wednesday June 16
Monday June 21
Wednesday June 23
Monday June 28
Friday July 2
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Tracy
-
Tracy, there's that leader of ours ...
Wednesday are looking good here, although most weekdays are fairly flexible. Hoping something will work out for a couple of our new gals !!!
Enjoyed the heck out of a "pretty pink" weekend !!!
-
Jean, first off great to see you yesterday along with Susan, Brenda and Verene !!!!
FYI ... The next support meeting at Dr. Paige's office is on the 15th at 6:30pm. I happen to have my 6 month followup that afternoon with him and would be more than happy to stay for the mtg and possibly carpool home. I'l have my car in the garage. -
Any of those dates look good for me.
-
Sounds like a great and emotional time yesterday. I wish I could have been there but I will see many of you at the 3 day in Sept.
I had my hysterectomy this past Friday. I am sore and tired but doing well. I am amazed at how quickly the swelling is going down. The robotic arms have such better manueverability that there is less trauma. If you ever need to have a hysterectomy, I highly recommend doing this way.
I would love to see everyone again. Wednesday the 23rd or Monday the 28th work great for me. The 16th is out because it is my daughters birthday and we are not sure what our plans are for the 4th of july so the 2nd is a questions for me.
-
I still got emotional today when a friend asked me about it! It was incredible.
MOnday the 21st and Friday the 2nd are not good for me. But any other dates work. I have my last chemo on the 16th, so could stay downtown for dinner.
-
It was a great event, so wonderful to see/meet so many of you there! The survivor parade is so emotional and moving. I have pictures but can't figure out how to post them!
Tracy--thanks for organizing us! the 23rd is best for me but I could probably swing the other days. How did the job interview go?
Carol--thanks for your very nice offer to hold my hand at the support meeting and I would like to take you up on it. Can you PM me with your contact info so we can work out the details?

Yay! I did it! Number 6 is done! On to Herceptin every 3 weeks through March 2011, Tamoxifen for 5 years, and biphosphonate study for 36 months. Woohoo!
-
Frosty1-Congratulations!!!! Good for you for making it through. Both Carol and I do the bisphosphonates. I have been doing for about a year and a half.
How does Wednesday June 23rd sound for a get together for everyone?

-

-
Frosty - Congratulations!!
I am really hoping I can swing it Wednesday and meet up! We are leaving to vacation 6am Thursday am...so if I dont make it, it's because I dont have my act together and I am still scrambling!
Lorrie - thanks for the prompting! :-)
-
Hi all - happy first day of summer - or so I hear!
Sorry to say that I can't make it this week. My dd is in a week long dance performance, and I am signed up to help on Wednesday night!
Have a great time !
-
I'm looking forward to seeing all who can make it tomorrow! And hurray for sunshine!

Hello gals .... quickly wanted to pop in and say thanks to Brenda, Lorrie and Tracy for a most delightful evening on the waterfront. Although we had a small group for this June event, the conversation was enjoyable, the spirit high and may I say to both Brenda and Lorrie .... "you both look great" !!!!! The upbeat attitudes and grand smiles we're a treat to share. To Tracy (our fearless leader), as always, it's a treat to be in your company, and of course you look fabo as well.
For those unable to gather during what seems to be such a busy time of the year, hope that we'll meet again this fall. Until then, good health to you all !!!!
-
Hello, it's been quite a while since I posted here. Bummer looks like I missed another gathering. I did the Komen 5k on June 6th, it was a great time. I will do it every year now, it was so much fun and so uplifting. I hope everyone is doing well!
Much Love, Jessica
