    Hi Delores,

I want to post a picture as soon as I get what I think is a decent picture, and my kids will have to show me how to get it on the computer.

Help me here--- what is Farmville and Cafe World?  Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hello Linda,

Farmville and Cafe World is on facebook.com You can be Mina and my neighbor. It takes your mind off breast cancer and its fun. Your kids can help you set up at farmville.com. My son had to help me learn how to down load my picture and play cafeworld and farmville. My sinuses have being running for three days the rx the doctor gave me and Alavert nothing will not stop them from running. I'm so tired of going to doctors.

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving all.

    Hi Delores,

Thanks for the "invite" and the info.  Sounds like somethng different to do.  The most I do with this computer is E-mail and look up articles.  I completed 5 courses for the computer in 2003 and was so proud, and have not done nothing with it.  I was trying to go back to work then.  Once again Thanks.  You might look up and see me there one day.

Sorry to hear your sinuses are bothering you.  I have found that to be a lot with the Herceptin I am on.

I try to use "saline drops" regularly and this has seem to help.  Yep--going to Drs. is not fun.

I hope you have a "Happy Thanksgiving" too.

    Linda C.

I am struggling with my hair post chemo. It came back less kinky and more curly than before. I wore my hair super-short before cancer and have decided that growing my hair out is something I want to do. However, I am freaked out and frustrated. I refuse to put any chemicals in my hair and honestly, it doesn't need a relaxer at all now. I am frustrated because manipulating these curls so that it looks okay and not lopsided is a lot of work.

I'm using the Miss Jessie's line because it was highly recommended by friends who are natural curlies. Its good stuff, as far as enhancing my curl pattern but its expensive and I'm not patient.

    Hi Sexy-bald-c..

You must try Carol's Daughter Hair Milk and Hair Elixir. It turns my hair from puffy to nice soft curls. I use it in the morning and it last all day. People ask me how do I get my hair so shinny I tell them Carol's Daughter. You will love it.

I've been using Miss Jessie's for about a year, and it's been a lifesaver. I'm trying to ignore the expense, and tend to skip it on the weekends if I'm not going to be out and about very much.

I was really impatient for the growing out to start, too, but once it got grown, I had to figure out what do to with it, especially before my "official" 6 months was up.  I was told no chemicals in the first 6 months after chemo, but then it started really growing and I wasn't sure what to do with it.   I'd always worn my hair shoulder-length with a relaxer, but I'd gotten really comfortable with the care-free do.

My hairdresser and I are experimenting with trying to keep it natural and curly, but I'm keeping the relaxer as an option.

Okay If you chose to stay curly try Carol's Daughter hair milk. My hair is growing good  inspite of the fact  that I'm getting Herceptin infusion. I never relax my hair not even before chemo. Good luck to you but don't relax before trying the hair milk.

    Hi, Rebekah  -

Did your hair grow back the same color?  Mine came in almost competely gray (ok, there was some before, under the other colors I added, but not nearly as  much as later!)

I have to  Plaquenil for my Cutaneous Lupus must be like taking some of the chemo...and it's not thickening up or growing much yet.

. I am getting more mixed grey hair coming in  and less white hair but it's taking a long time.

I am nine months post chemo...whew...I have started using Rogaine to thicken it up  so I can get a hair style one day soon Smile I have used Rogaine before the first time my hair fell out approximately 10 years ago when I was  in a disease flare so I hope it works again. I'll will use it forever to have a  thicker hair. It takes about 3-4 months to get new hair and must be continued  to keep the hair growth...hate all this fuss but I did have lovely hair...and miss it a lot ...since it started falling.

I look at lot my 25- 25 year old hair...I don't expect  that hair to return but lord please.

Hair started growing while still on chemo (last tx of AC on 4/5). I guess coming in better b/cau very straight and soft. I'm patiently waiting on these curls I keep hearing about!!
After reading on here I've been using Carol's Daughter's products religiously and I just love them!! Right now I've been brushing the sides and back down and spiking the top and middle. I gotta have some kind of style!
Hopefully it will continue on this fast track. Everyone comments on how fast its growing, and I'm like what? I feel like its at a turtle pace.
Anyway happy thoughts and God's blessings to all....

I am 15 weeks from my last chemo and my hair is slowly growing back. I'm 37 and shocked to see how much gray I have. I have almost an inch of hair and it is pretty straight, sticking up in some places on my head. I'm ready to dye it, but didn't know if it would be too soon. For those of you who dyed your hair, how long did you wait and what products did you use if you did it yourself?

    Hi there,

I am  near 60+++ and my hair came in transparent...see through YIKES!!...which horrified me and then all white. My chemo was completed last April and  presently my hair  is  growing in  black and is more mixed grey.

Unfortunately  I did apply dark brown Henna(don't do) my hair approx 6 months ago but all the white then  turned yellowish-orange red...awful.. after washing. Of course I read the cautionary stuff after I did it :lol

.Yesterday I applied a  semi-permanent dark brown color which is  a bit too dark but will wash out  and not become  bright yellowish orange.

One of the ladies on the other Hair thread says... and she has pics... that it takes at least 18 months to regain your original hair texture etc.  Her hair came in curly...she wasn't to keen on that... but gradually straightened out. That is the amount of time it took for my hair to get back to normal...from straight strange looking  hair with a skunk trail down the middle to transparent hair to white to mixed grey to now my hair  which is cute and  curly...not bad in my book... I need a style but later for that

    Good luck.

If you have  time there are several great salons in the NYC area, not affordable for me with great reputations...among all women..

Wig  bought prior to chemo 9/08 worn twice...:)

I can't use any products with Hydrogen Peroxide but I hope you can...

    see ya

Glad I found this! I have been fretting so over my hair,it was always long beautiful silky shiny,I could do anything with it.I finished chemo January 2009 and herceptin October 2009.I have to keep my hair short,it grows in at different lengths,it has been very coarse and dry.I recently stopped washing it every night, now I just wet it and use conditioner  and rinse and it seems to be helping. My hair is never oily and I think it is dry because of this.I do know the herceptin seems to affect our hair.Mine is still much darker than my "real" hair. But it was very gray and that is fading fast.

I have been taking Biotin to help with my hair. I don't know how much it is helping, but it seems like I can see a little bit more growth each week. If someone doesn't see me after a few days, they can tell that my hair is growing. My hair was very curly before, I wore it natural, and now it is pretty straight. I don't mind it, but I'm not sure how long it will stay that way.

    Clane1- have you tried Biotin?

Pandazankar- I'm triple neg., so I'm not taking anything. I can't help with how herceptin affects our hair.

Bar62- I hated wearing my wig. It looked nice, I just didn't feel comfortable wearing it.

I am now 2 & 1/2 months PC and my hair is beginning to curl!  I continue to use Carol's Daughters products especially the Tui Leave-In Conditioner.  This helps to define my curls and add moisture.  The Mimosa hair honey is also a favorite of mine that adds sheen and helps to moisturize my scalp.  It continues to grow and everyone comments with how much it has grown!!Cool

My hair came back in VERY straight and thin but I always had thin hair to begin with. The color is the same, dark brown but the texture is like baby hair. It'll be 6 mths from my last chemo on July 4th and it's so easy to manage that I hope it says this way. I used to relax my hair alot but this hair doesn't need a relaxer. Even if I don't brush it people tell me it looks good. I use baby shampoo and Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Moisturizer to keep it hydrated and slick. I get many compliments....people tell me I have beautiful hair, I say it's just chemoperm LOL!! I sure hope it doesn't change back because I like the extra money I am saving not having to buy a relaxer!!

Cajunspice- my hair was pretty thick and curly, so this new texture is new. My two boys are biracial and their hair grew in straight, then after they were a year old, it started to curl. I wonder if my hair will do the same. I didn't relax my hair before, but now that it is straight, I would consider a different style.
