Let's conduct our own study on how we all got breast cancer

patoo- they had them for girls too! I had wonder woman- 2 pairs
-
Hmmmmmm, wonder woman. That tight outfit she had on, bet she had BC too.
-
LMAO Patoo...I almost spit out my apple!
Don't panic :eah, you only clean every day if you have 7 pets -or 3 kids, it's the same amount of dirt either way!
-
Uh oh. 2 cats, 6 kids, 6 grandchildren, 1 dh, 2 sons-in-law....
(and a partridge in a pear tree)
Leah
-
crselby - do you one better - we used to ride our bikes behind the fog truck
Anyone else exposed to DES in utero? Mom took DES while pregnant with me.
-
hey bluegems! My DH used to ride behind the fog truck! he said it smelled sweet. . . .
I'm another one guilty of capturing radioactive lightening bugs. I also held the canister while spraying my first apartment for fleas [though I did hold my breath] and I had to do the same thing with the 3d apartment. So I'm thinking its hoards of fleas with little voodoo dolls of me sticking pins where the doll boobies are!
-
Ut oh, Leah -you're screwed! 6 kids??? 2 cats??? grandchildren..oh yeah...we know what did it for you...
bluegems...you rode behind the fog truck???
-
count me in on the lightning bugs too...and playing with cicada shells tha we pulled off the pine trees..UGH i can't believe we did that...
I THINK that the whole thing boils down to those nasty mosquitos in summer they flitted around infecting all of us unsuspecting kids with the BC cells...The boys you say??????prostate....need i say MORE!!!!
Patoo- LOLOLOLOLOL I love ya girl!!!!
-
Oh come on, how did the mosquitos get to the prostate??? Never mind, don't answer that - some things you just don't want to know.
-
I say that it is because of consuming bread...
1.More than 98% of convicted felons are bread users.
2. Fully half of all children who grew up in bread consuming households score below average of standardized tests.
3. In the 18th century, when virtually all bread was baked in the home, the average life expectancy was less then 50 years: infant mortality rates were unacceptably high; many women died in childbirth; and diseases such as typhoid, yellow fever, and influenza ravaged whole nations.
4. More than 90% of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread.
5. Bread has been proven to be addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water to eat, begged for bread after as little as 2 days.
6. Bread is a "gateway" food item, leading the user to "harder" items such as butter, jelly, peanut butter, and even cream cheese.
7. Bread has been proven to absorb water. Since the human body is more than 90% water, it follows that eating bread could lead to your body being taken over by this absorptive food product, turning you into a soggy, gooey, bread-pudding person.
8. Newborn babies can choke on bread.
9 Bread is baked at high temperatures as high as 450 degrees Fahrenheit! That kind of heat can kill an adult in less than 2 minutes!
10.Most of us on these boards have eaten bread at one time or another leading to the fact that we have all been diagnosed with breast cancer.
-
This thread is so funny!!! lol!
-
Veggy,
Brava!!!
-
Veggy, that 450 degrees may kill an adult in less than 2 minutes, BUT - the BC cells would survive.
-
I'm in trouble now. Had 2 dental appts this week with root canal today. You know those suction tubes they put in your mouth. Never quite get all the saliva and you try your best not to swallow because you don't know what they have been drilling out of your teeth (silver fillings, plaque, food) so you want that 'thing' to suck it out. Of course you involuntarily swallow a little. Well those particles we ingest are probably what caused our BC!
I see a class-action lawsuit against the dentists who drill!

My top 10 list of what caused my cancer:
1. Ya know the famous "step on a crack, break your mama's back"? You guessed it...i would get angry with her as a child and go and step on every crack I could find. Of course, 15 minutes later, I would be crying just thinking of my mother with a broken back.
2. Paint by number sets.
3. Spankings. Not that I had many. But a few times my momma did "burn my butt up".
4. Writing answers to test on the palm of my hand a few times.
5. Barbie's: but only if you chewed on her feet and fingers.
6. Barbie's Dream Town House. Not that I really think that anything to do with. I just needed to throw that out there 'cause I thought I was hot shit for having it!
7. Sneaking to watch the rated R movies when "The Movie Channel" was first introduced. Esp watching "Rock and Roll High School" over and over and over and over and over again.
8. Love's Baby Soft spray.
9. Aqua Net Hairspray.
10. Drinking Coke while eating Pop Rocks just to see if it really would make your belly explode.
-
I think I got bc from scratching and smelling to many ("scratch & sniff stickers") from my sticker album collection. Oh and eating to many "vienna (sp) sausages/wieners" in a can -use to LOVE them as a kid.
-
what bout colorforms???? They stuck to everything including all over me in the hot steamy souith!!
Love's baby soft!!!! Gosh used a ton of that stuff
Speaking of the hot steamy south with no air conditioning...we would practice piano in our shorts, sweat and leave rings on the bench where we sweated...i BET that varnish and stain just soaked right in and there you go!!! Course my sister didn't get BC so there's a flaw in that theory....
BUT i did get twice as many spankings as her!!!
Barbies....tons of em...
Maybe i did too much breaststroke in the pool!!!! YIKEES
-
Hum....I had the Barbie Camper...with some serious Barbie Town House envy.
But I digress.
I used to eat play dough (is this a form of Bread?) I would set up a table and give equal attention to all four colors. I still remember the sound of my parents screaming when they barged in during dinnertime.(Rude!) then no more play dough for me. sigh.
I think I must have eaten too much of the limited edition breast cancer pink play dough.
-
Hmmm - if putting peroxide in your hair did it I guess I really guaranteed BC for myself by putting peroxide on my tooth brush and brushing my teeth with it for whiter teeth!!!!
And I guess watching 'Top of the Pops' in the dark on a Thursday night while my parents were out doing the shopping and while I was suppose to be doing my homework might have been a contributing factor.
And what about all those wax paper drinking straws I ate as a kid????
-
Welcome all new posters on this thread. You have added to all the possible causes that we have come up with to be able to join this club.
Ainm - you ATE the straws? Oh, well I guess that's no worse than chewing those little wax bottles that had the sweet 'juice' (who knows what it really was?).
-
I haven't reviewed all 45 pages, so don't know if this has been mentioned - maraschino cherries and the juice in the bottle snuck from the refrigerator, one cherry at a time before/after parents' party? I agree with Patoo about the wax bottles with the sweet vibrantly colored liquid and submit for consideration - the wax lips. These three items were all identified as much loved and consumed as frequently as possible - in a late night discussion on this very topic by a group from my Dragon Boat Team - all women with BC - ta dum! proof!

-
ugh! Almost forgot the biggest culprit of them all!
RAVE home perms! I'm SURE that has something to do with it. Sure of it.
-
I used to love those little wax bottles. How about wax lips? Could have been a mixture of wax lips and bottles that did this?
-
It's Nair. I used to smear the pink stinky stuff on my legs instead of shaving. I smelled for days after using it.
-
Sweat, by those of us too cheap to turn on the air. Gave my BC cells the perfect warm, moist, environment to grow into a lump! Dang, better go turn on the air and get out from in front of this fan!
-
How about drinking coke (the real thing) and eating Payday candy bars.
-
Nope, can't be Payday - I didn't like them but those little candy (sugar) dots on the paper - loved those!
-
Well, Patoo, you must be right about not using the air conditioner. We lived for years without one, and even now my dh (who I think does not feel extremes of temperature) doesn't want to turn it on too often. Well, I'll have to tell him that IT MUST BE ON EVERY DAY if he wants me to be NED.
I'll think of an excuse for more heat when the winter comes.
Leah
-
hmmmm, all these new possibilities:
1. I didn't eat the wax bottles with the mystery liquid but I did like to get the wax mustaches and chew on them.
2. I never had air conditioning growing up so there may be something going on there.
3. I did get up late at night when my mother was sleeping to watch stuff on tv.
4. oh and my mother gave me one of those Rave Home Perms in the late 70s and she left it on too long so I'm thinking theres probably a problem there.
5. I only used Nair once or twice but well you know how it is with toxic stuff. . . .I didn't own Barbie anything. . . .
I did go barefoot a lot. . . .
-
3monstmama - what were you watching? If it was naughty PG-14 stuff you were probably zapped by the subconscious police! See, blame the victim - you watch bad shows so you are responsible for your joining this website.
