Shooting pain on the side of my head

Hi everone,

For the past week I get this occasional shooting pain on the side of my head. It always in the same place. I did just start xeloda two weeks ago but I don't think its one of the side effects. I kind of worried its brain mets. I did just have a recurrence of skin mets a month ago and my scans did all come back clear but that doesn't ease my mind right now. Anyone experince anything like this? i'm trying not to freak out.

    Headache is one of the SEs of Xeloda so it could be from that.  However, mention it to your onc and get a brain scan to put your mind at ease.  Brain mets isn't that common and I wouldn't worry too much, but ask for the scan anyway.

    I get migraines like that and this is the time of year, when the weather gets hot, that they kick in.  But given how recently you started Xeloda, that does seem like a likely candidate.  Tell your onc and see what he says.  As my radiation oncologist said "you report, we decide."

    I agree,with clear scans a month ago this sounds like xeloda, tell your onc and ask for some stronger pain killers:)

    Hi Ladies,

    Thank you for the replies. I saw my oncolgist on Monday and they are sending me for an MRI of the brain tomorrow. Now I am really freaked out. I'm just praying its nothing.
