These aren't my top two -- there's a whole jumble up at the top in this category -- but two moments that took my breath away:

The first time I drove to Mt. Hood -- every curve we went around gave a view more spectacular and breath-taking than the one before -- when we got to the tree line, I sat for over an hour in total awe of the power and beauty of the mountain.  Hooked me to mountains forever.

Several months later, the first time I hiked up to and saw a subalpine meadow in full bloom.  Indescribable beauty.  Man couldn't create a garden as wonderful.

    More memorable moments, please...

While in college I applied to work at a summer therapy camp for disabled children; walking down the hill the first day I thought, "This is exactly where I'm suppose to be," and it was, it led to my whole career & many lifetime friends and memories.

being kissed at night in a park in a snowstorm after playing in the snow and making snow angels with my first real boyfriend......was like being inside of a snow globe

how about most memorable romantic moments?

I was really down after being dx that my husband took me to the melting pot and presented me with a pink sapphire tennis bracelet and said this is for many years to come just don't give up.

My husband is not a dancer and he gave me a glass of wine and then blindfolded me and took me to a place that gave dancing lessons for us. I love to dance and he felt bad he didn't know how. Now he dances with me in my living room anytime :0)

    2 most memorable romantic moments.

Ebann!  Those are 2 fabulous romantic moments! what a great guy!

walking paths of Capri and getting lost with dh, then finding a restaurant in the middle of nowhere and we were the only customers, they put on cheesy american music and we had the best afternoon!

riding bikes and taking walking trails on a quiet day on Block Island

    next 2 romantic moments

here are two things that I think are romantic in a generic romantic way

traveling by train, and sitting up in the dome car where you can see the sky; especially at night, and going through little towns at 2am and wondering why the light is on in a house; shift worker? new baby? bad news?

walking along the beach at night; with the moon and stars twinkling down & the waves crashing on your bare feet in the sand

    SIGH!!!

    more romantic.....

Good moments, Ruth.  Night sky, ocean... can't do much better than that!

One of the most romantic moments of my life won't sound it... but it was when my then-fiance (now ex-husband, but with no real ill will) and I were having lunch together one workday in a cafeteria-type place on campus... and we were talking... and for several minutes there was no one else in the crowded, noisy room of over 100 people except him and me.

And it's sappy, but I still think it's romantic when a man sends flowers, especially for no particular reason.

    OK... top two ethnic foods!

My dad, for his loyalty, steadfastness, work ethic, sense of humor (too dry for most people!), and ability to love.  Miss you, dad.

An employer that hired me on faith (rather than experience) because he saw potential in me -- nothing like having faith in someone to help them really grow.  I'm no longer at that job but he and his wife are still good friends.

    More influential people!

Besides my mom and dad mentioned earlier

Mrs. Daignault (my high school literature and grammer teacher) who taught me to love reading even more than I did.

Dr. Wehrwein my nursing school professor and now the associate dean of the grad school I'm in.  She's the consummate nurse and educator.
