Stunned. Now sister diagnosed.

Heyas - this is just a vent really. Finished rads a week ago, felt a little overwhelmed by everything that's happened over the past year but OK. (no family history of BC so it was a suprise). Just beginning to feel a kind of 'normal'.  My sister has been suffering from lung infections for the past 2 years, but there was no definitive diagnosis of what it was. Today she let me know that they found a lump in one of her breasts, and she gets to see a surgeon on monday for a lumpectomy and node removal. She hasn't told me if they were able to grade and stage it yet but I'm just horrified that she's had so much trouble with her chest and now this. The two things could be unrelated but I'm so worried for her...we live in different countries too so I can't pop over and see her straight away either.
Just when you think you're getting a handle on all this cr*p it finds another way to slap you about.

I am sorry for what you have been through but am happy that you have finished your rads.  I hope everything goes o.k. with your sister and that her test results come out o.k.  I am sure that it is hard being in another country and not being there to support her face-to-face.  Most of my best friends live in another state and I know it is hard for them being so far away since they can't look at me and figure out whether or not I am really doing o.k. or just faking it over the phone.

I will keep you and your sister in my thoughts and wish you both the best.
