Where did the Political Debate thread go?

How come we lost another thread??

I thought the discussion was interesting re the BP spill and current events.  There were only a couple of snarkey comments (both sides of the aisle)  ... and nothing to get upset about.  There was a lot of interesting info on that thread .. and we were actually getting along.  All I saw was some good natured tit for tat going on once in awhile.

It was just getting interesting as we were about to discuss a documentary that was televised last night.  I was curious what the other gals thought of it.

I wish you would put that thread back up.

Thanks,

Bren

I am so disappointed that some people cannot get passed a few words.  Yes, at times it gets a little heated.  How many group hugs did we have?  We know we would be there for one another if we were ever needed and if we could get to that person.  Well, I'll speak for myself there.

I really believe people who get so upset by this kind of discussion just ignore the thread.  There are several threads I never read, nor would I ever post on.

I was going to post something about the moratorium that Obama put in place.  Too bad I can't.

Are some people afraid for us to post fact with links to let others know the truth?

We have "pet" names for some of our officials.  So?  That is not disrespectul.  It's called, "freedom of speech."  The tea party people were called "pet names."  In fact last I heard Olbermann say to Maddow that she should be president.  She responded and said she could be the "fake" president.  Olbermann responded and said, that was the last president...referring to Bush.

I anyone wants the article I was going to post about the moratorium and what was said, PM me and I'll give you the link.

I am very disappointed.  I am also stage IV now and this takes my mind of "other" things.

    Shirley

I hope I dont' bet banned for this post.  I do not run to the mods to report silly stuff.

Here's a link to a website with few rules about language, name-calling, etc.  It's a political free-for-all and is open to everyone:

Shirley ... was going to ask you if you watched the Matthews documentary last night ... and what you thought about it.  I thought it was interesting. I think sometimes we forget how often history seems to repeat itself.  Loved seeing lots of the old footage.

Don't think I'd vote for Rachel for Pres.  Bless her heart ... she's a tiny bit intense!

love you friend ... hope you're doing okay,

    Bren

Thanks, Madalyn!  That one I had not seen.

The usmessageboard.com website leans a bit more to the right, and has very few rules about name-calling, insults, or fact-posting.  I've seen some language there that would make your chemo-curl straight!

Bren, the thing about political threads here is that whenever someone denigrates the "other side", or starts name-calling the leader of the other side, then those on the other side and who support their political leader(s) feel insulted.  I think the mods on this site don't want anyone - regardless of their political stripe - to feel insulted. JMHO.

I agree -- it was getting very interesting to read about our fellow sisters' takes on the Gulf disaster, and as your northern neighbour, I've learned alot about it, besides what our media here have covered (and yes, many Canadian experts have been consulted right from the beginning).  But I'll be checking out the websites that Madalyn and Enjoyful have posted, and will probably find them just as (and maybe more! or less!) entertaining and enlightening.

As for Rachel for President -- well, her mother is Canadian.  Would that disqualify her?Wink

    Hugs,   Linda

Bren, I recorded Matthews last night.  I am going to watch it today.

Now, back to solving the clean up in the Gulf. Cry
