Preliminary Biopsy Path..can you help out a newbie, please?
I am newly diagnosed (week before last) and just got some preliminary biopsy path results and wanted to run them by you all and get some input if at all possible.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to talk to any specific doctor as of right now that can give me a real explanation of things, so I'm hoping maybe some of you may be able to shed some light on these preliminary findings.
Again, I know this is all preliminary, but just wanting to get some insight on it all. So many things that I can't seem to understand, even Googling them is confusing.
I'm still waiting on ER/PR,HER-2/neu, and Ki-67, but here is what it says:
Breast-Needle Biopsy, Right Breast at 9 o'clock (1.2 cm)

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Hi,
It is best that your doctor explain the biopsy results. The only thing that I know is that miotic state one means it is slow growing. Learning to be patient and waiting for test results is the toughest thing we do. Hugs.

This looks like good news so far, a well-differentiated, slow growing tumor based on your Nottingham score. The hormone receptors and her2 are important for treatment options. These should be back by now so I would try to find out. This is all positive information, though, a non-aggressive tumor with no lymphovascular invasion, a best case scenario, really. Good luck!

Everything you wrote above is good - not that anything pertaining to a cancer diagnose could be "good" - but well differentiated cells are slow growing not fast and agressive, and your Nottingham is three out of 9 which is very good too. Let us know when you get your receptors back, and you will probably be ER/PR + which will be good too, as ER/PR negative doesn't come back with scores so low as it can be a very agressive cancer (I unfortunately am triple neg) - so as Coss said, you have a "best case" scenario for sure. All the best to you as you begin your journey. We are here for you anytime you need us.

Looks like your biopsy is very favorable! Your tumor looks to be non-aggressive and slow growing - which is great in cancer terms! Your results may change slightly once you have your surgery, but it looks like you do have one of the best case scenarios! Good Luck and keep us posted!

Thanks Ladies...
I appreciate all your responses. I know that there is still much ahead of me, and I already feel welcomed by you all who have given me some wonderful feedback.
Take care and God speed and many prayers being said for us all,
Tori
