Journey.... Girl... tell us about that day of yours...... WE can take it!
-
Jazzy -- how are you doing?
-
Lilah thanks for asking! I just posted on facebook...but I will post here too, for now I am visiting with Bryan Susie's hubby....trying to get an update. They will be starting clear soft foods tomorrow. Maybe regular food by Friday or Saturday. URGH She has been in the stinkin hospital for 10 days so far!....TOO STINKIN LONG!!!!
-
OK well my day was so dang LONG! I'm SO glad hubby took today off!! Had to drop off script that onc wrote for my joint pain, had to pick up cd of my scans for my ultrasound...had ps appt, then ultrasound, then pulmonologist appt.
The PET lit up where I had had my last biopsy. They were thinking it could be a hematoma, so my onc wanted an ultrasound to check it out. After the ultrasound the radiologist came in to talk to me. He told me that the probable reason for the pet lighting up was because the surgery/biopsy was so close to having the scan and it was picking up things that were still fresh so to speak, like blood. The ultrasound did show it, but it's all good!!!
My pulomonologist was amazed at how my nodules were almost gone!! We looked at the last scan and this latest scan and man oh man was there a difference! The last scan showed a LOT of nodules and this scan you could hardly see any! AWESOME!
I have more fat injecting needed and my nips...but ps says I need to wait until I am healed and healthy!! My onc said NO MORE SURGERIES!! He is worried that all of these surgeries are wearing me down....so as much as I want to get my tatas looking prettier...I will be smart about it and wait.
Thanks for all of your love sisters!!
HUGS! Jazzy
NOW....my biggest problem is the joint pain that I have from taking Arimidex. It is getting worse and I feel like such an old lady and feeling more and more crippled...I HATE IT!!! The script my onc wrote.....well insurance won't cover it! So I need to see if my onc is going to perscribe something else or try to get insurance to cover it. If this can't be resolved then I may go back to Tamoxifen. I would love to hear if any of you girls are dealing with this, if you are on arimidex or tamoxifen and which do you think is better.
OK enough for now...urgh it even hurts to type, my fingers are killing me! WAH...
-
p.s. my sweet adorable ps took a team to Haiti. There is SO MUCH distruction and so many people need medical help! He is going back on Friday for a week. He says he is the only surgeon going and that everybody has stopped talking about Haiti and they need the help! He won't get any sleep because he will be so busy. His medical assistant told me that they have to kick people out of the hospital to make room for new patients. They have nowhere to go so they want to stay at the hospital...so sad. They have been blogging their trip, check it out. The pics are AMAZING! Here is the link: http://www.portraitofhaiti.org/
Heck girls, it's amazing how we get any sleep in with how our prayer list just keeps growing!
Teresa, how is Lesa???
-
YEA Jazzy!!! I just knew everything would be great for you! Lesa is doing better. She hates this collar she has to wear but its only for a while.
I am watching for my airfare too. I really need to get it booked.
Teresa
-
I just got my airfare for my Vegas trip in Aug...I will worry about Oct later. The price goes up and down daily!
YAY! Tell Lesa we are all praying for her!
-
Jazzy - Thank God! Nodules going away is a huge and wonderful report! So sorry that you are dealing with the joint pain. I was feeling that way on Tamoxifen before it almost killed me. (Let's just say that some drugs are evil) Your PS must be a wonderful person to give so much of himself to the Haitian cause when the rest of the world seems to have forgotten.
Teresa - Looking forward to meeting you in Vegas. So very sorry about Lesa, and hope she continues to heal quickly.
Susie - We miss you and are praying for you. Keep the faith that you will get better and stronger. Brighter days are ahead!
Yesterday was just one of those days. Today will be better! Hugs sisters
-
Jazzy - sounds like really good news (except for the joint pain) -- yay!!! Hopefully some relief will come soon for that pain. Great news about Susie improving -- can't believe she's been there for 10 days (way too long).
Teresa -- glad Lesa is healing and a collar is doable if it is part of the healing
Looking forward to meeting you ALL in Vegas! I too am watching the cost of flights right now... hoping the price goes down (I'm see around $426 RT right now -- way too much!)
-
Jazzy- Oh girl I am so excited for you with the good report on your scans. Now to get that joint pain fixed. Were you on tamoxifen before arimidex? I haven't been on them but know a couple folks who are and will be happy to ask.
Theresa- I am so glad Lesa is getting better. I will keep praying for her recovery. That surgery doesn't sound fun at all!
Hey for all of you watching airfare from all the traveling I do with work - airfare always goes up over the summer months- it is peak travel season for the airlines with all the summer vacations and gas prices always go up for the summer for both cars and planes. The prices usually come back down after the kids go back to school. I realize that might mean booking a Vegas ticket closer than some of you want to wait but for those of you dealing with high prices of $400 and up it might improve in early September. This article from the Wall Street Journal comments that we may have a new factor in addition to summer vacation- the airlines are purposefully not making more seats available which is also driving up prices. The article does comment Vegas is one area that is still trying to recover-- which I hope means there will be advertised "sales" to get folks to Vegas.
Warning- don't panic when you read the % and $ price hikes- those amounts are in reference to international not domestic flights. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/airfare-soars-as-carriers-keep-capacity-tight-2010-05-14

Thanks for the link re: flight prices, PackerGirl... we shall see if I have the guts to hold out
-
Well, I think Southwest still has some really good deals for October. You might want to check out their fares...
Jazzy, congrats to you on your good report! I'm hoping that you will be feeling better all over very soon.
-
Hey ladies hopped on for the 1st time in a long time
Theresa so sorry to hear about the scare with Lesa
Packer girl great seeing a post from u, will have to call u soon
I'm staying crazy busy with work ( usually working 10 hour days) and staying active when I can find the time
-
Yes Packer I was on tamoxifen before arimidex. After my hysterectomy/ooph I went on arimidex. My onc perscribed celebrex for my bone//joint pain which I hear works for everybody with this arimidex side effect....but just found out we can't afford it. My hubby says, "we can't afford that so you need to ask your onc to perscribe something else." :-( After crying and sulking because I have really been hurting physically....I realized that I was mostly upset that my hubby doesn't think I'm worth the $50 a month. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my hubby and he is a great guy....but I think that is what is bothering me the most. I just needed to share because I feel like you all are my closest friends and those of you who know me, know that I say it like it is. I am an open book.
Anyway, I'm gonna look into natural stuff and see what I can come up with. I have a call into my onc and I will probably hear from him on Monday.
I have been an awful friend...I haven't called Susie yet. Bryan says she is ready to talk and I just haven't done it! I have been so preoccupied with family stuff and dealing with my meds and appts. NO EXCUSE! I will call her today!
I really would love to hear from Robin! Keep us updated on your new treatment!! I would also like to hear from Kristina...from Seattle!!!
Happy fathers day everybody!! I bought myself a mothers day present for fathers day yesterday...lol I collect martini glasses and I was in the dollar store yesterday and they had the cutest martini glasses with blue stems!!! BLUE IS MY FAVE COLOR! so I had to buy some!!! WOO HOO!! I was able to serve yummy cosmos to my guests last night for our fathers day meal!
OK I need to tend to dinner ...another fathers day meal! :-) Love having family here!
HUGS! Jazzy

I'm that way with wine glasses, Jazzy. I have a HUGE collection! LOL
I haven't been on in awhile but I'm so happy that your scans were good. YAY!! I'm gettign anxious for my June 30 appt with the onco. He took me off Tamoxifen due to 6 months of vaginal bleeding. I'm pretty sure he's going to want to put me on Arimidex and I have to say . . . I'm not psyched about the idea. I've heard of lots of bone pain and other side effects. Part of me wants to just say NO. I'm done, no more. But the part of me that is scared to death of a recurrence says "you should listen". sigh Is the Arimidex expensive? I have a lousy prescription benefit. Tamoxifen was great, $11 a month, but I've jeard Arimidex is expensive.
Sandy, good to "see" you. I've been crazy busy too lately. My parents sold their house 30 min away from me and moved to an apartment in my town. LOTS of work in the last week or so. Makes it hard to get here as much as I'd like.
Teresa. SO scary about Lesa! I'm glad she is doing better.
K, I have to get DS to bed.
-
Jazzy -- awww I'm sorry you're feeling bad about the Celebrex thing. Also: you've had a lot on your plate this week and it's understandable you've been too busy to call Susie... I'm sure she will understand when you call - don't be so hard on yourself!
-
JAZZY... I know the unbelievable hardship of NEVER seeming to get on with your life. I hurt when I hear others are never getting past this, like me. I try so hard to move on.. then.. bam.. something else. I hurt when you all hurt... cause " I know"
Please call me to vent.. this summer I do not have the grandkids all day.. so I am free to talk more.
Robin Called today and we talked for an hour or more.. I am sure I drove her crazy with all my chatter..lol. She is doing pretty good Janet. She is having to do some inconvenient at best, treatment.. so we'll see. I know she will post about when she can.
Hubby can be a great guy.. and not " get it" JAZZY.. you need this medication.. right? If it is 50$ a month... you can sell $50.00 a month of "stuff" on craigslist to get that cash. Right now is garage sale season. Go to as many as you can on the first day. Give them your name and cell phone. Let them know that you will pick up anything left over. About 1 in 10 people will call you. Then you just list the stuff on Craiglist for CHEAP.. and you will earn about $100.00 a month.. more if you work at it... but not working very hard.. you can get that money for your pills! FYI for my friend.
-
Jazzy- I started doing some research on this Celebrex thing for you. So far this is what I have found..
Celbrex consumers can call 866-706-2400 to sign up for a program, which will provide free medication for up to a year from Pfizer . You can only sign up if you have already been taking the medication for at least three months. This might be worth a phone call to find out the qualification criteria. If you don't meet whatever criteria for that program ask if they have any other programs.
I am going to keep looking.
-
Jazzy - Back again... I found this link on Pfizers website to look and see if there are programs you qualify for to get Celbrex discounted or for free... http://www.pfizerhelpfulanswers.com/pages/misc/Default.aspx
Also there is a program to get a free trial of the drug before you start to ensure it is going to have some benefit for you. Name of Offer: Celebrex Coupon 7 Free Capsules Note: You Can Only Obtain This Coupon From Your Doctor. If your doctor doesn't have a supply of these coupons have the doctor call Pfizer at 1-212-733-2323.
There has to be a way to get our Jazzy what she needs!! Hugs girl!
-
GOOD JOB PACKER!!!!

AWE THANKS GIRLS!!!! I'M DEFINITELY FEELING THE LOVE!!! Packer...I had already researched the pfizer site. Since we have insurance I don't qualify....I don't quite understand it all but I will get down to it tomorrow. Thanks so much girls for helping me out! Laura awesome ideas!!

-
HI LADIES!!
There were a few of you that I had Pm'd a few weeks ago and I have not heard back on how you are doing. PLEASE check your PM's...:)..
-
Laura, how is your PT going? Are you getting any relief?
-
Thanks for asking Mona!
PT is going great. I like this gal! I have only gone twice.. so not much has changed. I will see her 2 times a week until the end of July. My therapist seem really confident, so in return, I feel confident.
LE stinks in such a way as you cannot do normal things. Example:
I love the outdoors. I rarely come inside in the summer... thus...LE hate Heat and sun.
I love gardening..getting my nails done..etc... LE hates these things as I can cut myself.
I have dry skin... LE hates this
I will not be able to wrap my arm while working hours (30 a week) LE hates this.
I am active in my life.. catching kids as they jump of the pool deck..off the stairs in the house... lifting all and everything heavy instead of calling one of my guys.....LE hates this.
ETC............
So.... I am sure LE and I will be in a Pissing contest all my life. LOL
I am hanging in there though... what else is there to do, right?
xxxooo
-
My betting money is on you Laura for the win
-

I'm getting so use to know what to expect when I go to the Hospital, sometimes no matter what I do to try & avoid the mishaps, I still break new records & give the staff a run for their experience...LOL LOL I ended up with 3 hernia's, not 2 as we tought & now have the largest piece of Mesh recorded for this aera to do the repair work. 5 failed pic lines, they cannot attempt them here anymore, should I ever need one again, will have to go to Portland-getting another Port is out of the question due to all the MRSA issues, so...there is yet another surgery still ahead & left side where breast was now needs some work which might be done at the same time, that won't happen till either November or December, hoping to get it taken care of before year is over & then begin to get my life back into order. Both need to be done due to the infections that I get-Alot of you so well put it CANCER SUCKS, & my ongoing health issues didn't start with it,but the Cancer & treatment's play a big part in it!!!! I'm working on resting & getting my SUSIE Power back for our VEGAS -WAHOOOO!!!! I've got some more great news as well & can fill you all in later, but I've mentioned COMMONWEAL once or twice & it's on, going in October as well-exciting month it will be. My surgeon & the chaplin along with the hospital are sending me,plus getting a scholarship from the retreat-a week long of Yoga, meditation, better ways to eat & be a stronger healthy survivor-then when I get back, can pass on what I learned to others here & be of some help-plus I'll share anything I learn on to all of you incase your interested!!
