I don't know about the ankle itching thing, but I have heard that the affected breast itching is a symptom of BC.  My affected breast itched like crazy before diagnosis.  I just thought maybe it was from weight gain and stretching, but it doesn't itch now.  Now I itch, but I think it from the scarring on the incision.  I would be intersted to know for sure if this is possible.  I go to the oncologist Tuesday and I am going to ask him if he has ever heard of this.....just curious.

    Hi

Just found this thread and I have always wondered about the deep unscratchable itch -not exactly painful but it was there in the spot where the cancer was.

I now have a similar feeling in my bladder/uterus area .I think we should be wary of any persistant itch.

    Be well

After reading this page, the 1st time I had breast cancer, my breast itched terribly, after lumpectomy, gone.  The problem now is my liver is failing and I have intense, all over itching that wakes me up all night long, most the time scratching.

Mine definitely comes from the cancer in my liver, as it is shutting down, about 50% right now, it can not clean my blood properly, so the toxins go to your blood and skin. i.e. bile/bile salts, dead red blood cells hence my eyes starting to turn yellow.  I am just looking for some relief, even if it's a witch doctor!!!

    Thank you,

    di

miss-di - I'm so sorry you are having to deal with such an itch.  When I was looking for an answer my sister kept asking me if they had checked my liver.  I don't know if this would be a possability for you, but my doctor prescribed a low dose of Atarax to take at bedtime to help with the itch.
