ILC, ER-, PR-, HER2+, Node -
Hello everyone,
My 50 year old mom (post menopausal) was recently diagnosed with stage 1 ILC after a lumpectomy. They also found areas of LCIS and DCIS. She is having a double mastectomy tomorrow.
Yesterday we met with her oncologist to discuss the results of her Oncotype test. Originally her pathology from the lumpectomy indicated she was ER+ so he did the Onctoype test. That ended up indicating that she is actually ER/PR- and HER2+. The plan is for her to do 8 weeks of A/C (Adriamycin & Cytoxan) chemo followed by 12 weeks of Taxotere chemo. At the time she starts Taxotere she will also begin Herceptin for 1 year.
I guess my question is, has anyone had the same cancer and know the prognosis? The oncotype recurrence score is 57 and the doctor said it so high because she ended up being ER-. All of the data and prognosis info in the oncotype report is based on being ER+, so it is no help.
Thank you.

Dear Chelleb,
Just wanted to post a reply to you although I may not be that helpful. I was diagnosed with ILC at age 48, similar age as your Mom. Mine was ER+PR+ and Her- but there are ILC girls on this site with tumor characteristics like your Mom and I'm sure they will be along with some encouragement. Meanwhile, I did have a double mastectomy and the chemo you mentioned. I didn't have an oncotype test as I had positive nodes. Anyway, it is a scary time but I promise you it gets better. This site is a wonderful resource.....any question you can think of, some wonderful person on here has been there and can help you. You will find lots of support here so keep asking and checking in for answers. Hugs to you and to your Mom. Good luck tomorrow. xoxo

I am older than your Mom,but I am one of the few that is er-pr- her2 +,ILC.I did DD Adriamycin, cytoxen x4.then DD taxol and herceptin x4,and continuing herceptin for 1 year.I had many positive nodes also.Chemo for me was very doable. Also had 33 rads.Hopefully this killed my cancer.Prognosis? We all hope for the best.Try to stay positive.
