Cost-effective way to have custom-sized leisure forms

lovemygarden, I just saw your thread and had to comment. 

The first time I went to a mastectomy supply store, it was too soon after my mast to be fitted; but I wanted to talk to a fitter anyway and find out what they had available. The fitter showed me a bunch of things, and to be nice to me (I guess), she sent me out the door with a triangle-shaped fiberfill breast form plus some extra fiberfill, at no charge.  The form had a smooth (nylon?) front surface with some projection, and a soft, flat back surface that had an opening to add or take out fiberfill.  It had a tag that said it was a size 3, which is the size of silicone form I would need later.  That silly fiberfill form has worked perfectly for me.  I wear it all the time when I'm wearing a bra.  I can wear it in my favorite, regular bras (soft, stretchy cotton ones) without a pocket; and it matches my normal side in size and squishiness.  I don't even bother wearing the $$$ silicone foob I eventually bought.

I decided I needed more than one of the fiberfill kind like the one I had been given, so I went back to the mast supply store a few months later to try to buy some.  The original fitter was no longer there; and the other clerks had no idea what I was talking about.  They brought out foam forms, oval TLC-type puffies, and regular silicone breast forms.  But they couldn't come up with one of the triangle-shaped, adjustable-fill forms that I wanted.  I even took mine out and showed it to them, but they just shook their heads and said they didn't have anything like that.

In desperation, I posted some pics of my fiberfilled form here, and, guess what?  Someone told me it was a cover for a silicone breast form!  So, it looks like I've been using the same type of custom-sized breast form you discovered.  Here's a pic of mine -- the one at the top is the oval, TLC-type (which I don't like).  The other two are the triangle ones.

I do have a problem, though:  I cannot buy another triangle "form" (breast form cover) at that mast supply store.  I've been back there two more times, now that I know what I need; but they've told me breast forms no longer come with covers and they don't have any.  And, it's even getting hard to find them through on-line vendors (plus I don't know what brand this one is).

I'm gonna take a guess at it, though -- they're so cheap, and they work so well for me, they're hard to resist.

Otter what you have described seems very similar to the softie they gave me at the hospital which im very happy to continue with and have made two spares. Mine came in a sealed pack marked Priform 214 size 5/6. You can buy fibrefill from craft shops for stuffing soft toys.
