Bring on the Ta-Ta's DIEP on Monday
Hello Ladies! I am going for recon on Monday and scared and excited and ready to explode! I woke up at 5am today, I never do that. I am having bi-lat DIEP at NYU with Dr. Nolan Karp. Any information on what to expect would be great.

Sorry this should have been on the other board.

Good Luck Deb! Let us know how you get on.

Good luck, Deb!

Hi Deb - there is a DIEP 2010 thread in the reconstruction forum - lots of good info there.
good luck!

I had the "Free Tram" at the time of the mastectomy. It's like the DIEP. Expect a 6 week recovery period.

Good luck, Deb. Expect to have second thoughts for a day or two afterwards. That's normal. But if there are no complications, recovery is exponential. By the time you go home you will almost feel human again, lol. I'm so-o-o happy I did it. I hope you are, too. Good luck.

Deb - popping in to say good luck on Monday - I know you'll do fine.

Good luck Deb, I wish I was getting mine right along with you!
-
Ha - I was thinking the exact same thing as blondie45! Good luck, Deb!
-
Deb, best of luck.

Thank you all! I am a good mess right about now. But all good. I am so scared of the pain. I was never such a baby before, but I am a baby now and thats ok. To all of you that were here before me thank you, and for all of you coming behind me I will let you know how it goes.

Hope your surgery went well and you are recovering smoothly. I am really excited for you.
