THE 2ND TA TAS SISTERHOOD REUNION IN VEGAS!!
Comments

Laura - I just sent you a PM.
Janice - Yea!! So glad you hubby is on board and supporting you. Hope things are much better at home now.
Sandy - Thanks for all the info. I have been to Vegas only once and that was just for a few hours with my young kids in tow years ago. This is really going to be an experience for me!!!
Linda - the CT was a follow up to the PET I had a few weeks ago. They thought they saw something in my neck but the CT scan proved it was nothing. I get so damn tired of running down those rabbit trails!
-
Me again. My Sisterinlaw is an event planner and she gets to travel and is given lots of nice perks like spa treatments. Well, this last trip she made she eyeballed some realy cute sandals loaded with swarovski crystals in the spa gift shop and they gave a pair to her. When I saw her wearing them I told her how cute I thought they were and said something like that would be cute in pink to wear to Vegas. Then she tells me how much they cost and I laughed and told her I would buy some cheap ones and glue some faux crystals on them. Well ladies several weeks later what shows up on my doorstep via Fedex? The cutest most expensive pair of flip flops this gal will ever be wearing!! She special ordered a pair for me in pink and the note says - Have a blast in Vegas because you deserve it. OMgosh I am just so taken aback by her generosity. Just need to get them broken in well before I can do any walking at all in Vegas with them. Wish I could figure out how to post a picture. The website for fellow fashionistas is http://www.ladylanells.com/ Mine are about 2" high with a full band and a heart as the toe piece. Wow.
-
Wow Gretchen! Does your SIL want to adopt me??? LOL Very cute flip flops. Can't wait to see you sporting them in Vegas. I'm starting to think of doing a little shopping for Vegas. I need some cute STUFF!

LADY'S... THIS IS A TEST FOR BCO....
CAN YOU ALL SEND ME A PM.. JUST PUT ON IT..... TESTING
THANK YOU
-
Well, I so appreciate all you hopes , prayers and thought for me..
I have truckle LE and in my effected arm.. SO.. this was slightly unexpected. But ladies, I KNOW I have been living in denial..
My PT is so great. I met here two yrs ago when I started this BC Journey. I am lucky to have her in KC.
We did an hour of massage... Lymphatic massage that is. She will see me twice a week until about the end of July. She thinks we caught in in time. My left arm was 1 1/2 larger than the other..
Anyway.. she said it is due to total node dissection and RADIATION.
Thank you for continued support. I will TRY to STOP having issues..lol
I am going to post this on two other threads... Thank you for caring so much!

{{{Laura}}}
Susie's surgery went smoothly and they were able to do it laproscopic!! YAY!! Her intestines were pretty twisted up, had quite a bit of blockage, and there were indeed 2 hernias. They were able to get everything for the most part unknotted! They installed a 20x30cm mesh which is supposed to bond to tissue faster. They prepared the operating room like they would for a transplant so it would be free of all bacterial...well as much as possible. She will be in the hospital at least until Friday. They need to make sure everything is functioning, no complications, and no infections. Please keep her in your prayers.
HUGS! Jazzy

Jazzy, thanks for the update on Susie. I'm so glad to hear it went well. I will keep her in my thoughts for good healing. Good luck for your scans today. Will you get results today or do you have to wait?
Laura, having trust in your care giver is so important. I'm glad to hear you like yours so much. Take it easy and get better!
Tracey, so nice to see your smiling profile pic in the thread! Lots of flying means a nice fat paycheck, right? That's always a good thing! I haven't heard anything from either of the other women assigned to Room 15, bigapple09 and kjbell, but that's ok. DH and I have accomodations at the Marriott Grand Chateau, so I will most likely be staying there.
-
Jazzy - Thinking about you today as you have the scans. Praying for stable nodules!
Such wonderful news about Susie! Glad they took the extra steps in the OR to prevent infection.
Laura - 1 1/2 X ???? So sorry you are dealing with this! Keep up those appointments and get that thing in check.
-
Daisy -- hehe thanks for the vote of confidence
(I like to win and it's a popular notion that the slots are looser downtown -- believe me I love the atmosphere at the Wynn and Bellagio!)
-
Jazzy, Laura and Susie---just a quick note to tell you I am sending up prayers and lots of positive thoughts! Sunny in Seattle today so I need to get out in the yard-QUICK! Before the sun goes away.
Have a great day all.
Tracy
-
Thank ladies..
Journey, I meant.. the left are is one and a half inches bigger around. Does that make sence? So, if you did not know I had LE.. you might just think I have chubby arm.. or.. not notice anything.
JANET.can you PM me Susie's Hospital room number... I would love to call and wish her well...
-
Estepp - Yep, understood. Hate that you have that much fluid to deal with, but it is do-able! And most people would probably not notice. Sure you do! I just ordered some very cute and cheap sleeve covers for my beige sleeves. I'll let you know what they end up looking like when I get them. Hugs!

Jazzy--Keep us posted on your scans. Thinking about you. I just finished school for the year, so hopefully we can get together.
Susie--You are such a trooper, you've endured so much and you are still filled with such grace!
I'm going to bed tonight for the first time since October with no homework to do!
Love and Hugs--Karen
-
Laura tonight I was at my bc meeting and I asked if any of them had LE. This one girl shared she did but doen't have side efects anymore. I hope you can say that same thing someday.
best part of my night was packergirl called me but only talked a few minutes because I didn't order my food yet
-
Hi girls thanks for all of your well wishes. I've got to say ...I actually love doing PET scans...they are so dang relaxing...but VERY EXPENSIVE! My pulmonologist wanted a copy of the ct scan so they gave me the cd...oif course I ran right home and copied the pics to my computer. It was probably a mistake because all night I was trying to decifer them and research on the internet what I was looking at. ugh I will just wait until next week.
Now on to Susie...this is just in from Bryan, Susie's hubby, he posted on facebook: just got back from the hospital. Susie is looking better but still hasn't peed so they had to put the cathator (?) back in. still on clear liquids. was hoping for real food by tonight. now not sure. May have to stay a little longer. shes been running a fever the last two nights so they are taking the central line out and had to put an I.V. in. Got it on the first try! Things are looking up!!!!
Have a great day girls!!
HUGS!! Jazzy
-
Jazzie -- Hope your scans went well.
Susie -- I hope that your infection clears soon and you get heal fast!
Laura -- I hope PT helps decrease your swelling. Is this painful? Does the heat of the summer make it worse?
Well -- I have had some bad news. My bone density has declined significantly since my diagnosis two yrs ago, and the Rheumatologist is starting me on Forteo - which is a synthetic parathyroid hormone that I have to take as an injection every day for two years. It is supposed to stimulate bone growth. Have any of you taken or know anyone who is taking this medication?
-
OH NO {{{ROBIN}}} I hope this will heal things!!! I hope there won't be any nasty side effects also! I will keep you in my prayers!!! HUGS! to you my dear TaTa!!
-
Oh no Robin! An injection every day? UGH! Just when you think you're coming out of the tunnel!
Are you on Arimidex? I've heard that it can cause bone loss. My onc took me off Tamoxifen a few months ago after only 18 months on it due to 6 months of continuous vaginal bleeding. I see him again at the end of this month and I think he's going to suggest Arimidex and I'm not so crazy about the idea due to the bone loss/pain issues.
Did your rheumatologist give any indication why?
(HUGS)
-
Aw Robin that sounds pretty awful -- injections every day for two years?! I am so sorry. Sending you hugs!!!
Sending good wishes out to Susie (no more infection please!) and Laura (may the PT work quickly to reduce the swelling) and Jazzy (hoping for good news on the scans)!
Who is doing the countdown to Vegas and how many days is it now??
-
I come on here and all I read is bad news.....I am praying for all my sisters.
Janet, Praying for good news for you!!
Laura, I pray the PT is helping..
Susie, I pray that you will be out of hospital really soon and all will be well with you.
Robin!!!!! you need healthy bones so if it takes daily shots then so be it but I hate you are going through this. My prayers are that your bones will respond quickly and it will not take 2 years.
(((((((((((((((((hugs for all)))))))))))))))))
