Bad Sore Throat

Options

I am 11 from my 3rd TCH and I have the worse sore throat that I have ever had. I don't think it is thrush, it hurts like the kind of soar throat you would get with a cold, just more severe. This is my fourth day with it and it is hard to eat and hard to talk. Nothing seems to help... any suggestions?

One Love...

I had a horrible sore throat on taxol and found out it was caused by heart burn and acid reflux from the chemo!  What a surprise.  I took over the counter Xantac and it worked almost immediately.

Konakat: Thank you, I hadn't even thought of that! I just took a Pepsid and will see if it helps.

Elizabeth: I took the Pepsid and it didn't make a huge difference, but it is finally starting to go away. I consider myself lucky, though, because the side effects haven't been too bad for me. Thanks for the suggestion... sending you big hugs.

If your ears - eyes - or throat is being affected by cancer medicine - the doctor gave me Nasonex.  I thought how STRANGE - it worked. Don't overdo it over a long period it could give you eye problems.  Be smart in its' use.

i suffered from these constantly while on treatment, the old fashioned cure was to put one teaspoon of salt into a 200ml cup of tepid water and gargle it, it clears some of the sinuses too, i was on tc plus avastin, a nurse told me to do this after the first bad infection where they gave me augmenton duo to clear it and it works. hth. Thank you for the great advice! The sore throat lasted 5 days before easing up and I am concerned that I will have it again after the next treatment.
