International Dragon Boat Festival 2010
I used the search function and found over 280 mentions of dragon boat on these discussion boards, so I know there are dragon boaters out there. Who is going to Peterborough Canada June 10-13? I am a member of Hope In the Boat from the capital district of New York State, but will be paddling with a composite team with comprised of HITB, Dragon Heart and Avalon Dragons R L S D.I am looking forward to my first festival/race experience and meeting other women from around the world.

Hi Debby,
You certainly are in luck (a matter of perspective I suppose!!), there are several breast cancer dragon boat teams in New Jersey. Here is a website http://www.njdragonboat.org/ and here is a website about a festival taking place this weekend - perhaps near you? http://www.paddleforpink.org/ we would have gone to that one but for the International Festival the next weekend.
I encourage you to check it out - even if you don't feel ready to actually paddle yet.
My team is new, we have had our boat one season!
