To fill or not to fill before Rads planning session?

Options

I am hoping you can help me with something...I had my consultation with the radiation oncologist yesterday who talked me through my radiation plan.  I had a LMX on 5/10 and had 1 fill since surgery.  He said I would have to quit fills after my planning session (which I totally understand) but he also said that I should probably not have anymore BEFORE the planning session.  My PS was of the inclination to fit in a few more before the planning session.

So my question to you ladies is what has your experience been?  I understand there can be skin changes after radiation but is it better to go in with a breast that is already a little stretched from a few fills or one that is flat?

my rad onco wouldn't do my planning session until 1 week after I'd completed my fills.  I've done 20 of 25 rad and so far so good.

    Hi Everett--

That is good to hear that you have 20 out of 25 done!  Congratulations.  Was there a reason in particular that the rad onco wouldn't do the planning until 1 week after?

I had my last TE fill approx 2 weeks before my planning session.

It is better to go in with a already stretched breast. Rads make the skin and muscle shrink, my PS said he would not be doing anymore fills after radiation.

Best to fill it up! I think there would be less pain in the long run. My chest has good and bad days, I finished 28 zapps about 2 weeks ago. Somedays I feel fine, others I feel like my chest is curving inward from the skin/muscle damage.
