Re-load dose - reactions anyone?

I had to take a break from Herceptin of 3 weeks.  I've had 15 out of 18.

I have to choose whether to restart or not.  Am I more likely to get a reaction by going back on it again do you think?  I would need to have a re-load dose over 2 hours. I did not have a problem the first time around.

Thanks.

Tough call. If you didn't have any reactions to infusion, does the re-load dose bother you that much? Just the time thing? I am on #12 and still can't tolerate the infusion at the recommended rate. It is what it is. There is a good chance that 15 doses is going to give you great odds at reducing the chance of recurrence, but will 3 more make you confident you did everything possible available at the time?

I have recently had to stop a second drug in the trial stage and was bothered that some potentially good drug is being withheld from me. I considered stopping Herceptin by choice at the same time, just because I was scared at everything that was happening with the reaction that I had. So I feel for your decision. It will not be an easy on. Sleep well...the answer will come to you. Remember whatever your decision is the right one for you.

It's the thought of having a big dose again.  I dunno I suppose I will do it - then I will know I have done all I can.

How did the Herceptin affect you?
