    ((( Apple )))

Hey, I need to set the record straight. It was not my therapist who said I shoud get over it and move on. It was my DH who said that, dear that he is. Lol. Things have settled down with us since our session with therapist. I am less emotional about my ps and his wife.

I don't remember if I told you about the results of the physical fitness test I had. When Jaimie talked about her weak arms it reminded me. On most of the fitness catagories I scored above average for my age; but, on the lower body strength I scored well below average This seems to be the reason I'm having trouble getting back into my running routine. The personal trainer will work with me one to one for 8 weeks to get me back in balance.

Cheryl you are lucky that you are working with a trainer.  I wish but that would mean I have some motivation.

If anyone see my motivation please send it back.  I think that I am stuck to my couch these days.  I think that I need a PC break but the PC is where I do my editing and I have been working on Search Engine Optimizers the last 2 days and my brain can't handle it.  The information is too much for my brain to handle.  I asked my DH to pick pictures for my website (I am redoing if finally)  and he will not help me until I narrow it down to 10 pictures....grrr...Okay enough complaining.

So today 10 years ago I made one of my best decisions ever....I married my DH even after my Dad offered to take me to the beach in the limo...lol...  The best part is that my Dad loved my DH but didn't want me to get married yet.....lol....

Jaimie:  I am much the same....on my butt alot, lol.  although we are bike riding in the evenings now, but I am still so tired much of the time.  Congrats on your 10 yr anniversary, too funny about your dad, lol.  I was very young when I got married, only 20 yrs old.

Cheryl:  Sounds like you're doing better : )   Is your personal trainer through a gym, or through physical therapy?  I'd love to go to a gym, but can't afford it....I always did better at actually working out if I went to a gym...I just don't do it at home, lol, too easy to avoid.

Is anyone else still *really* tired all the time?  I am so sick of being tired.

waaaaaaaay more painful that I thought it would be.  For thorough those of you who went through this already, when does the initial 't pain ease up a bit?

fwiw~ I can't even tell I had an ooph.  No pain there at all.  Apparently, my ovaries were so small and shriveled up, they were hard to find. gotta love chemo.

Oh, Michele, hope you feel better soon. At least the ooph part isn't hurting. Drugs, take drugs!

Michele~ Ask for some muscle relaxers.  Your Pectorial muscles are protesting....I hope it goes away soon.  When you start going for fills take my advice and take it real slow.

So my right nipple is still having issues...grrr....  but I am doing the best that I can to keep it clean and there.

I'm on valium (and tylox).  So what's wrong with your nipple??

Oh I am allergic to the type of stitches so instead of my body disolving the stitch it disolved my skin. So righty got wide, flattened a bunch and then started lifting from the bottom. I am a hot mess....lol.... This is why I say to everyone NEVER use me as an example of what will happen to you. I am thinking that it is time to go get allergy tested.

I am thinking that my nipple will heal but it will not look cute like the left one. My concern is that it was not made from a graft so it is part of my flap. So right nip is getting a bath twice a day in hibicleanse followed with a lot of alcohol. At this point I just want it to heal attached. I do not think that I am asking too much.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend.

Michele--I protest taking any meds, but wouldn't have made it through reconstruction without the flexeril.

Just found out from my plastic surgeon that she doesn't know if I will be able to have nipple reconstruction because of all my radiation...for some reason this set off the tears.  Sometimes don't you just get tired of it?  Doing much better now...and we will see what her decision is this fall.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Apple hoping and praying it's just one of those rogue lymph nodes that is simply kicking up its heels.

All, keep those clean scans coming!!

I went for my follow up with the thoracic surgeon. Results are as I was told, no cancer - yay! All the other cultures were negative except the one for sarcoidosis. It showed that was likely the cause for the enlarged node. So, I'm off to my newest doctor, the pulmonologist. Since it hit the aorto-pulmonary window lymph node, my surgeon and onco want him to follow me. Just another stop on the journey of life.

Good news is I get my mediport removed a week from tomorrow!!

Michele - oh, no, is it the anesthetic or the pain meds??? Feel better.

Oh, apple.  Crappity crappity crap crap crap.  Yell (((apple)))  Frown

Cheryl ~ Glad you're doing better.  While I'm sorry that your husband tells you to stop dwelling, I'm very glad that it wasn't the counselor saying it, lol!

Michele ~ I'm glad the ooph didn't hurt, and I'm sorry the TE's do.  Demand pain meds to get it under control!

Jamie ~ so sorry you're having trouble with the stitches!!!

Furies ~ I'm not so very tired anymore, but the pain and soreness get very annoying.  Almost all my joints hurt (I blame Tamoxifen and/or Herceptin), and I still have mx soreness on my cancer side.  I guess it's scar tissue; not nearly as tight and painful as it was.  Just sore and sort of bruised feeling.

Love and hugs to all of you!

well it's been awhile since i've posted anything. I've got 2 more treatments left and 3 more shots. I can feel my white cells just being eaten away. I got a sore throat, my head hurts, and also runny nose. I hope this doesn't last long.. i was suppose to get my shot today but damn memorial day.... granted it's a nice holiday but why must it close down a clinic? Sick people needs their shots. I need my shot. I traveled a hour to try to get my shot today not knowing they was closed. no warning or anything...   Poor planning on UVA's part. But it made me have a mini break down.  went on a walk with cheryl to help calm me down. it was nice.. saw bass fish, sun fish or where they rainbow fish? hmmm, and a wierd fish... that looked like a eel, koi, bass, dolphine inbred, it was very scarry, saw some ducks, and almost got to pet a turtle. it was neat. The heat nearly killed me tho. But overal nice. i also saved the planet today by picking two pieces of trash out of the forest. made me feel special. now i gotta suffer for two days before my shot. :-(

Apple:  so sorry to hear your news....I can't imagine how you are feeling right now, but please know that you are in my thoughts

Jaimie:  I am often tired, but do enjoy bike riding when I feel up to it (and the weather is good).  My body pain and aches subsided substantially when my period returned, so I was guessing it was due to the chemopause.  It sucks that you're having more problems with your recon...it sounds like you are being very diligent about taking care of it, and I hope it heals up soon!

Nancy: glad to hear everything is fine, and that your port is coming out : )

I have an appt with my gyn tomorrow to discuss having 2 periods this month.  Just want his input on it.  I have had some degree of bleeding for 18 of the last 30 days, and want to make sure this is ok

Well, my gyn is going to do an ultrasound next week, just to make sure....he's doing one where they insert a catheter with a small balloon, fill the balloon with water to extend the uterus.  Has anyone had this done?  It sounds kinda uncomfortable.  He also mentioned getting a colonoscopy, but I'm putting that off for now.

Haven't heard of that Judy, but you are right, it doesn't sound like much fun. I know there is a procedure where they cautherise the lining of your uterus when you get a lot of bleeding. Anyhow, hope it goes well and it isn't too painful. What day are you having it done?

That's great Michele....I am going to try to get the brca testing done first before getting anything else removed.  I can't have surgery right now anyway, with the coumadin.  How is your pain?  I hope it has improved and you are feeling more comfortable.

    Hi Kerry!

Michele~ Glad that your path. was normal.  How are you feeling ??

Judy~ I still need to do the BRCA testing but I do not want to do it....I am whining...

Looking for my motivation still.  I am tired and I have no motivations :(.  I think I need to go to the gym and get myself moving.  I was 6 weeks out of surgery yesterday and I think I am having problems shaking the anesthesia....

Nip is still not pretty but I think it might be okay.  So I will be looking at a little nip tuck on the nip to get it looking a little more like the other one.

i'm  fine.. a couple days of sadness.  It's as it's always been.  Right after my surgery, my surgeon said.. Dam.. i wasn't able to get it all or something to that effect.

.. so I've really known all along. i think i was diagnosed stage 14 as early as 12/12 08.. who'd a thunk?  no wonder i failed my first scan after treatment.    I don't like to read my doctor's stuff.. at ALL.  I just have to trust my team to make the right decisions

yes, i am busy moving.  Things are getting very exciting.  picking out trim colors, cabinet colors, floor coverings.  I'll be able to post pictures in a couple weeks that will show most everything.

i am really excited about the cabinetry.  about 20 years ago, mr. apple bought a some cherry lumber, had it planed into boards and stored it to dry naturally in his shop.. All cabintry will be made of that .. but the inner panels will by DYED an amber.  the color is very intense and the result will be dramatic and colorful.. We'll know what it will look like when they are finished and hung.

Last year I was at a garage sale, and bought 3 interior doors, six panel, brand new for 20 dollars each.  mr. apple tried to buy one to match and it was $550.00... so i done good. We're not going to buy that fancy door.

We chose a tile product, a mixture of an aggragate, vinyl? and marble dust.. fake stone if you will for the main body of the house.

    http://www.mannington.com/Residential/Adura.aspx

super easy to clean.  we are also painting the outside of the house.. the guys just went at it, and there is not much of the accent color showing, but I'm going to change that if i have to do it myself.  (i'm an excellent painter I am told).

yesterday i started digging out a sun garden.. There is an old foundation right in the front of the property and it is full of poison ivy.  the roots are beneath landscaping paper and it is a bitch to dig out.. so we are hiring a bull dozer thing (which is coming anyway to regrade the driveway).  Sometimes to instigate things i just have to do it myself.

There should be enough time to plant some established peppers and tomatoes.  (i won't be able to eat the peppers probably Cry.. and i love them.

just a few recent pictures below on the blog.  I am not doing a very good job of documenting the process.  We are still moving around June 21st.

I had Herceptin yesterday, and the onc doesn't like the way my thyroid feels.  He ordered a blood panel and an ultrasound.  Feh.  He says this has nothing to do with the cancer, and if the tests show anything he'll just send me to my PCP.

The bloodwork for liver function is elevated, but onc says it's nothing to worry about unless it gets REALLY high.  I choose to believe him because I'm just not ready to believe otherwise. Undecided

And it was the anniversary of my surgery; I cried a little bit.  Onc says oh but look at it this way, you're a year out from the cancer!  I'm like yeah, I know, but I'm also depressed.  So there.

apple ~ I'm glad things are going well with the house; the cabinets sound like they will be AWESOME!   Smile

Love and hugs to all of you!!

Hi everyone - just checking in to say hi.

    Jamie - Belated Happy Anniversary

Judy - I am still very tired.  I did have some further reconstruction surgery a week ago but even so.  Can't keep up to the rest of the world yet.  The odd time when we go out (and I mean once every 3 months or so) we leave before everyone else as I just absolutely have to.  I still don't think the medical profession has a handle on the after affects of chemo and in particular taxotere - long term fatigue if you had side affects from it.

And, your hair is absolutely gorgeous.  Looks a big like Meg Ryan's was a while back.  I am hoping to have your style in a while.  Have to work with the curls.

     Take Care,

    Bev
