I am one of the 2006 girls and am heading to a 6 month followup that will include a mammo the beginning of June.

I dont come here very much anymore but have been thinking of everyone alot lately and wanted to check in.

How many of you are still coming here and how are you all doing at this point in your lives??

I'm here, jpann!  I have my check up in July. Had a mammo in March on my remaining breast, showed a new area of density. Had an MRI, which turned out normal. Will have a follow up mammo in Sept. because that's what the radiologist wants. The surgeon was the one that ordered the MRI.

As far as I know, NED appears to like me, so it's on to the next dance in July!  Hope your appointment goes well.

    Hi Jennifer

Thanks for posting!!!! Glad to hear things are well for you.

I guess I just get scared at these appts....I tell myself Im not going to go that Im far enough out that it wont matter, but in the end I go anyway.

Im still doing the tamoxiphen thing but Im sure he is going to try to get me to change to one of the AI's. I tried Femara, but didnt like the aches and pains it caused me so we will see what his thoughts are now.

    Hi Jule,

I'm still hanging around here and feeling great.  I will be a 4 year survivor in October.  I'm still taking the Tamoxifen and it is not too bad.  I only get mammograms once a year now and see the Oncologist every 6 months.  It is good to hear from you again.  I'm glad you're doing well.  Good luck with your check up.

I'm another one from 06. I come here on a weekly basis just to read. I had my 6 month follow up two weeks ago. Thought everything was  ok till I got a call from the oncs office. Something in my bloodwork isnt quite right so its either a recheck in 6 weeks or on to a bone scan. I chose a recheck in 6 weeks but now I wish I would have just had the bone scan. All this waiting is stressful.

Hope your check up goes smoothly.

    Hi Jackie

I seem to come here one a month, sometimes further apart.

Im sorry your in limbo again with this junk. Can you call them back and tell them you want the bone scan? My onco is very understanding and would let me change my mind after the fact on something like that. He doesnt do scans unless he sees a reason to, but said he would do them if it would make me feel better. He believes the stress of waiting for test results is almost as bad as the disease. I chose not to test other than normal 6 mo. blood workups.

Please keep in tough and let me know if I can help in anyway.

    Hugs

    Jule

Thanks Jule, I am going to try to wait it out. I am trying to stay busy and not think about it. It is what it is. Have you had your check up yet? I am praying everything goes good for you. Keep me posted.

    Hi to all,

So appropriate that I found this thread today. Tomorrow is my 4th cancerversary. I  am active on the boards. I can never stop coming here. This is "home" for me and I like to reach out to those who are newly dx or just scared. I also like to stay in touch with my bc sisters.

I now see my onc every 6 months and have a mammo and u.s. once a year.  I am still NED, thank God!.  I am having a hip replacement in 3 weeks. Not looking forward to it but it must be done. It could be worse...it could be cancer! I am still on arimidex for which I do have side effects but again...what is the alternative?

Jule, thanks for starting this thread. It will be nice to see where we of 2006 all are right now.

Jackie, good luck to you. Keep us informed.

Jennifer and Nancy, good to "see" you.

    hugs and prayers

    He ladies

Im heading into a long weekend from work then next week the dreaded onco appt. I feel pretty good except Ive been getting terrible cramps in the back of one leg every night for the last few nights. I think it is just probably that I havent drank enough water and its been raining so less excercise as well. If it continues Im going to ask the onco about it though because Ive heard of ladies getting DVT (deep vein thrombosis) while on tamox.

But all is well in my world.....My new husband I have started our own business and just got our very first paid order this morning :)....

    Hi Jule!

Good to see you first off.. Glad to read that your doing well, thank God. I hope that your upcoming mammo will be nothing to talk about after its done.

Im doing ok, as ok goes.. A few little complaints (mostly age related-LOL), some dental work postponed due to Zometa, and some new heart things--otherwise we have a "wait and see" with the good boob, and an alternating schedule for mammo/mri.. sept will be the next one..

Im greatful for my bc sisters, and I still pinch myself every AM because every day with my family is a blessing..

    Peace, Angie
