Hi all, had my first AC May 6 and felt great after it.... until Monday May 10.  No I am so lightheaded I am hardly functional.  Had to take today and 1/2 day off work yesterday.  Has anyone found that this delay occurs?  Does it go away?  Trying to behalf and rest and all that stuff, but inherently no in my character to do that.  The worst part is seeing my kids look at me like I am fragile.  They are so great, but have never seen me dragging like this - even through an MS diagnosis.  This chemo sucks big time right now.  Three more then Taxol.....  Short term pain for long term gain - right ladies.

 Thanks for letting me vent!!!!

I had much the same experience-I was treated on Fridays and I was relatively fine on Sat and Sunday- but I could not go to work on Monday or Tuesday--- I just felt nauseous and I needed to be at home-then it would lift and I would feel great-- I had 4 treatments of AC--- one every two weeks, so I was in and out quickly--- I always found I felt my absolute best the day before my next treatment!  Now, 18 months out of dx, I feel great- you will too.....

Thanks for that!!!  I was worried that the two days after were just luck and the real yuck hits.  I think I'm starting to feel better tonight, so will probably head to work if all goes well tomorrow.  I'm lucky in that they are VERY flexible and if I have to go, I have to go.  Did you have your chemo before or after sx?  Mine in neoadjuvant to shrink the little bugger, then SNB and lumpectomy with radiation.  I will be good to go after this is done with.  Just a pothole....

Thank you for making me feel "normal".

I had one round of FEC and then had an allergic reaction this week when they tired my second round. Been switched to AC for 2 rounds.  Hopefully I can get started on Monday. I had no real problems with FEC so I am hoping AC will be very similar. I am curious of how other ladies have gotten along.

I had a lumpectomy and an SNB at the same time, then the chemo---- then the radiation.... when you are in it, it feels as though it will last forever, but honestly, I almost never think about it now- I am 18 months out---- I had a clear MRI last week--- I consider the experience over.....

hang in there-- it is really just a bump in the road.....

Marcy4--Just had my 2nd round of AC yesterday, and SE so far have been relatively minimal.  As you know, however, everyone reacts differently.  Just make sure that they give adequate antiemetics, and prescribe others to be taken as needed.

My chemo center gives highly effective antiemetics on day of tx, and sends me home with mandatory strong antiemetics for the 2 post tx days.  After that, it's different drugs for nausea, but only as needed.  Maybe you're experiencing the end of your required antiemetic tx, or the end of the day of tx drug effects?
