Does BC make my butt look big?

omg.  I am like a fattening hog.  I couldn't get reconstruction at the time of my bi-lateral for two reasons.  1.  I had cancer in a couple lymph nodes.  2.  I was too skinny and my skin started to "white" when they tried to put in the TE's.

sooooooooo, I was told the more fat I could put on the better.  I haven't been trying, not trying at all, and I've gained 18 pounds.  EIGHTEEN POUNDS!!!

BC has turned me into a fattening hog.  UGH.  When is this going to end?  I look at food and feel my @ss get bigger.  I've never had this problem before but I'm hungry all the time!  Cheese, ice cream, bread, cookies, cobbler, cake, yea...give me seconds.

I'm gonna weigh 200 lbs before this is over.  AND THANKSGIVING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!!!!  grrr.  I love sweet potatos.  the thought made my thighs bigger.

DH and I are going to have to buy a bigger bed.

The weird cravings are making me insane.  Applesauce at midnight.  Curry for breakfast.  French fries dipped in vanilla ice cream.  Big glasses of ice cold milk and I'm lactose intolerant!  Geesh.

Oink......I'm fat

Oh Pamelajo, at least you have your sense of humour ... perhaps if you figure putting some weight on to have your recon is a bit like pregnancy, the cravings sound like it ... putting on extra pounds for a gift at the end!!!?  Maybe?!

    big hugs

These extra inches and pounds will come off eventually right?  Or will be relocated from my back fat to boobs LOL

    Pamelajo:

Nearly fell off the couch laughing when I read your post - you have a great sense of humor!

Your body is probably telling you it needs what it needs right now to help it heal.  Your doc said to gain the weight anyway.  When your body doesn't need this, it will likely tell you so, and you'll be 'back' before you know it.

Take care - be good to you -

Love your post....like LittleRed said your body is probably telling you something..that you need to eat!  So go ahead!

I too am hungry all the time...for years I have watched what I have eaten and now I eat what I want....I figure if I gain too much weight (have gained 10)  I can go on a diet..but for now..I'm enjoying this!

    Thanks girls!

As I sit here with my feet up in the recliner, snacking for the 16th time today, this time on yummy cheese curds, I think to myself............  I want a fudgecicle.

LOL, seriously, I've got another month and a half of chemo.  18 lbs in the first month and half.  If I keep going  the way I'm going that's 36 lbs.  My hubby looks at me and chants in a low voice "eeeeaaatt".  He's lookin way too forward to these foobs I think.  When he pokes my backfat (getting dorsal flap recon) and offers me a twinkie, I just smile and take it.  I'm hooked.

My boss is trying behavior modification with chocolate!  I haven't even told him about the whole "get fatter for boobs thing", so I'm wondering what behaviour he is modifying.  Everytime I do an extra little job for him, Hershey Kisses show up on my desk!  ACK!

I keep telling myself that when all this is over, I will do situps and crunches and walk till I firm up the whole mess.  I will do that....I'm sure I will.  Ok, I am at least sure I will tell myself I will do it.

Till then, I'm blaming all this on steriods and depression LOL  The steroids are out of my system from the last tx, and I'm not depressed, but thats who's gettin the blame.

So, I raise my Twinkies and make a toast to each of you!  Here's to a BC free future, and fat butts.

What a hilarious post!  Keep up that fantastic attitude.  Once the chemo and all of the nasties are leached out of your system you should be able to start getting your body back.  Are you going to be going on Tamoxifen?  I really think that I have lost weight due to the Tamoxifen.  Another couple of women have the same impression.

Hang in there...There will be so many women replying to your thread , joining you in your boat -maybe you ought to start shopping for a yacht to hold them all!

Amusingly, the topic that's right under yours at the moment is about "Weight Watchers!"

I love that one's sense of humor has nothing to do with breast tissue. It's important to laugh in the face of bizarre treatments and stressful situations.

You're not a fattening hog. You're making big ol' new boobs. And when they're in, you will probably love your new heaving alabaster bosom so much you will immediately set aside the Twinkies and go for a walk to show it all off. Maybe.

Note: I have neither gained nor lost weight due to Tamoxifen, which I've taken for 10 months now. If I eat a big fabulous meal, I seem to have a lot more hot flashes, interestingly. This does not always keep me away from the queso, but sometimes it does. I'm thinking Thanksgiving is going to be a flashfest. Possibly also Halloween.

whippetmom:  I'm told I will have to take something after I get done with chemo, but not sure what they are putting me on.  I had a hysterectomy when I was 24, but I have one half functioning ovary left.....so, who knows.  Oh I do so hope I have one more pill to take for the next umpteen years to go with the umpteen I have to take now.......NOT.  LOL  I think there is room for one more prescription bottle on top of my microwave.

Kleenex:  Knowing me, I'll walk about with my lovely new jumblies while eating a Twinkie.  I'll just have something on my chest to catch the crumbs :)  Have you ever thought of just eating the big ole meal and keeping a fan ready for the flashes?  The Halloween candy aisle at the store for me is like a bug to a zapper.  I don't want to go there, and I know I shouldn't, but I HAVE TO!!!  Zap.

I love Thanksgiving food coma. :)

Hey! The PSs I saw for consults did not tell me I had the option of gaining some fat for a flap recon, they just said I didn't have enough fat and I'm at the heaviest weight I've ever been. Maaaaaan! I'd be all over those cheese puffs! I've been worrying about gaining weight with the Tamoxifen but it hasn't happened. I'm a little concerned about losing weight after I get the implants and looking like a lollipop-shaped cougar.

Oh, I wouldn't worry.  It'll go away I'm sure.  I am starving as I type, and I've come to accept that fact that I'm growing out, not up.

Dorsal flap reconstruction is the skinny girl option for recon.  The more back fat you can put on the better......  LOL  there's where the fattening hog part comes in.  Growing boobs on my back has been easier than I thought it would be.  Now if it were easy to get them moved around front without surgery.  ARG..   oh well, one step at a time.  Luscious cleavage is just around the corner.

LAT Flap is over and I'm on the mend, but my butt is still huge.  Dang tamoxifen!  Walking 1/2 a mile a day now after surgery and I've shed a whole 2 pounds........ugh!

Loved reading all the old posts. You made it !  How much did you gain and what is your goal to lose? And when was your surgery?

With your great attitude I know you are doing well.

Pamelajo!  You just crack me up!  But after the LAT FLAP, you have a skinny back, right?

Definitely a skinny back :)  They took so much skin off my back that I actually think I got a free butt lift to boot.  Chaching!

I had a biopsy of a lump today pam, but I'm confident that I will be fine :)  I've got a warrior attitude and this little lump isn't anything to be afraid of.

I've gained about 40 lbs. thus far.  This has not been easy believe me.  The PS said I needed to gain some weight, unfortunately (and he patted my gut when he said this in his oh so sexy foreign accent) "you only gained in your belly and butt)  ACK!!!!

I don't want to lose all of it though.  I kinda like having a booty for once in my life, but I want rid of this spare tire around the middle.  My foobs will match my other curves

Actully I did wonder about the skinny back part. It does seem like if they take that muscle and move it to the front then one's back would get a tiny bit thinner? I just wish it made me look like I had a waist. Never have had one before mx my waist and my chest were the same size - really! My mom's waist and hips were the same size - she had very narrow hips so we didn't get the waist genes or as my sister says nor the ironing genes.

Pamelajo-  Just wanted to let you know that even though your original post was way back in October you put a smile on my face today.

I usually stick to just a couple of threads but decided to branch out today and saw yours.  OMG!  I laughed so hard!  I was kind of bummed out today (TE's hurt, DH is gone, feeling FAT too) but you kind of made it better!

    Thanks!
