Hello ladies, first of all Happy mothers day.....Hope you had a great one.
I am back home from Vegas after a red eye....I am still recouping. Well, I cannot way to get back there in October. Not because I like Vegas but because I will be with all of you. Well I spoke to a couple of people and I cannot start looking a places until I get a close attendance count. Not to worry, we will have fun. I did find a couple of places for photo ops, there are these cool stairs at the new city center, I think that would be fun. The city center area is very pretty and nice. I also thought about serendipity (Cesar's hotel) for dinner Friday night. It is an outside restaurant right on the corner of Vegas Blvd and Flamingo. If any of you go to Vegas this summer, please check it out.
Thank you Anniese I will take you up on that offer as well as Laura. Once it gets a little bit closer I will give you my ideas and of course since this is out trip, I also welcome any suggestions.
Hugs

So, has anyone had trouble on Tamoxifen? I've been bleeding vaginally since before Christmas. I had a endometrial biopsy and pelvic US in Feb. US was normal but did show a thickened lining, which is common on Tamoxifen. The biopsy was "inconclusive" because they didn't get a big enough sample. So 2 days later I had a D&C. Fun, fun . . . NOT. The bleeding continued for another week, then stopped for a week, then started right back up again. My onco took me off Tamoxifen 8 weeks ago, and the bleeding immediately started to slow down and trickle off. I thought it was almost gone, then last week, it started up again. UGH! Now my GYN wants to do a sonohystogram (sp?) which has thrown me into a big, fat, pity party. In the last two years since my diagnosis, I have had more surgeries, procedures, chemo, and doctors and I am SICK of it! And I'm not even done with my boobs yet.
Good news is, the bleeding has trickled off again and looks like it may be stopping. Crossing my fingers.
Sorry for the rant, just needed to blow off some steam with women who would understand.
-
PS: any tips for washing the Vegas t-shirt? I put it in the basket for cold, delicate cycle wash. Will that be ok? Did you dry yours or let it air dry?
-
If you put the t-shirt in the dryer it will shrink so you need to just hang it up and let it air dry. At least that is what I was told last year. I only have worn mine once and that was in Vegas. And yes....cold water, gentle cycle.
-
Mona - I don't know if what you are experiencing is related to Tamoxifen or not - you might want to address this issue in the forum "Hormonal Therapy" and see if you can get some answers. Many of us go through chemopause (i.e. chemical induced menopause) and we stop bleeding all together. Some women get their periods back after 8 months or so but I think I was too close to menopause and it has now been 14 months since I have had a period.
-
Jancie,
I hadn't had a period in 18 months either. This is not a period either. Yes, it's bleeding but without doing way TMI, it's just not a period. SOOOO frustrating. I guess I just wanted to vent.

1st-Happy Be-lated Mother's day!! Those of you who are on FB might have read what I got to do & am still in the middle of it all. Just to fill the rest of you in-found mold growing all over in my bedroom which explans why Aurora & myself haven't been feeling well lately!! Between the wind storm last week knocking a shelf off the wall & things getting broken, then this, poor hubby spent whole weekend bleaching & then re-painting with special paint-more things got broken-my home is trashed in everyroom & still painting left to do & all is amuck!!! ARGGGGGG!!!!
Mona-don't dry your shirt!! hang dry to be safe!!! I hang dry alot of my things & special wash as well!! I had a few werid reactions to Tamoxifen, not the bleeding, but after just one month got lumps under arm pit & on my legs below the knee caps, had to be checked for blood clots-that came out ok-they were painful-dealt with them for over 2 year's,just switched to Arimidex since I had a hysterectomy. The lumps just now went away. I can also understand your venting...... ..totally!! I'm still boobless, no work done on them & I've had 24 major surgeries in 3 years & facing 2 more, still boobs are still not part of that-so you know what Sista-You vent all you want & shout it out-Were here to get you thru it & we understand what you are going thru!!! I send you power prayers & (((HUGS))) & keeping you in my thoughts that this will ease up on you & get the answer's you need & heal your body & give you peace of mind!!!
143 days Ladies till we all meet again or for the 1st time.......Viva Las Vegas
Hey, are we doing our own Pink Square event??? I want to dance!!!-Yes Jazzy, it wouldn't be the same without you too!!!!!!
Take care Chow XOXO Susie

Mona: I had a large swelling on my neck from the Tamoxifen. They're still not sure what it was but I got so scared I have stopped taking the Tamoxifen. I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago and believe it or not, I had spot bleeding from the Tamoxifen. It stopped when I stopped taking it.

I didn't like that one of the rare side effects of tamoxifen was uterine cancer....I decided to do the hysterectomy/ooph so there wasn't anyway I could get uterine or ovarian cancer. I now am on Arimidex.. Chemo put me into menapause and I stopped bleeding during chemo. I had my hysterectomy/ooph 9 months after my last chemo and I never bled and I was on tamoxifen during that time. I'm sure every body is totally different and reacts differently....PLEASE VENT!!! That's what the TaTa sisterhood is all about!!!
THE TATA SISTERHOOD ROCKS!!!! WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!
HUGS!! Jazzy

Mona my period has been a little goofy since Dec
sometimes only go 2-3 weeks between periods and last month never stopped spotting
Now that I stopped spotting wondering how my next month will go
Last June I think they did do a biopsy which about threw me off the table
Also had another ultrasound in Dec
usually do this every 6 months too keep an eye on my fibriods
-
OK my turn to vent...I went to see my bs for a follow up. I had her feel what I had been feeling. My ps told me he thought it was scar tissue from my port. Well it is a hard lump and bumps. My bs was going to ultrasound it but decided just to bypass that and do a biopsy. I was thinking ok she will just stick a needle in just like my breast tumor biopsy...well looks like I have to check into the hospital. She will go through my port scar to access the area. She really isn't too concerned, but told me that anything that she can see or feel needs to be checked out. I was all fine with it until today when the hospital called to make sure all of my info is still current...then she asked me the dreaded question, "about when did you find/feel this mass?".....URGH! OK really I am calm but urgh going under again even for a short time....urgh after going under 7 times in the last 19 months...ok just thought I would share and vent...I check in Monday morning I think at 9am.
My bs is mostly concerned about my lung nodules and made a note of it so it adds more concern with all of my doctors. I feel so spoiled how all of my doctors talk to eachother about me. I'm so special. :-)
Anyway great news about Kitty!! YIPPEE!!! And Lilah YAY!!!!
Thanks girls for always being her for me.
HUGS!! Jazzy

Jazzy ~ praying it is nothing!

Hi Jazzy,
I had something like that recently and it was fat necrosis from one of my surgeries. I was never so glad to hear that I had fat in my body! I just know it will be nothing. I'm sorry you have to go to the hospital though.
Thinking good thoughts for you girl
Tracy

Jazzy: It's going to be OK...tell yourself it's nothing and it will be NOTHING. They're just taking precautions and being extra careful....that's a good thing no? Am thinking of you, I know this whole thing is a downer, but it'll be over soon and you can rest easy. (((HUGS)))

Tracy... first of all... you are funny... " happy to have fat" LOL.. you are so randomly funny and I dig it lady! :
Secondly.. I am so glad your are venting about this Janet... we just have to get this crapolla out. I will be praying for you!
I have this book. I add your names to it as you ask for prayers.. everyone here on BCO. Then I pray for each of you as needed. I just want you all to know, that I really do pray for each of you when I say I do. I am NOT EVEN CLOSE to being perfect.....lol... not even close... but I know/believe that HE is. So I pray. Jaz... let us know.. Monday will be ok. Hold on to your family this weekend.
-
Jazzy: It is just typical. We had cancer, so everything is suspect. It is just the way it is. It will turn out to be nothing but it is necessary to scare us in the meantime...Just think. Tuesday it will be all over...Fingers crossed. JUDY
-
Jazzy - dang girl - sorry you are having to deal with this. I sent you an email regarding the t-shirt. Can't remember who and where I send my check. Sorry but the pain meds were doing numbers to my brain.
Oh....tell you how bad my chemo brain is. I asked my dh 3 weeks ago about a pair of skiis that were in our garage - where did they come from. He tells me I bought them over the summer at a garage sale for $15 for his son. I freaking don't remember doing this at all. I keep trying to remember the incident but heck nothing comes to mind at all - I am drawing a total blank. I don't even remember if I posted this previously or not. A true blonde - actually now a bottle blonde!
-
Jazzy: I so understand your dreading another surgery! I am sorry that you have to do this but am glad that your BS is being thorough. Just know that we are all here for you. (((hugs)))

Jancie.. I have these brain issues. I was talking to Judy today on the phone.. and I had trouble remembering things I knew about her... it made me MAD.
I do not remember much. it breaks my heart really. Todd ( dh) does therapy with me to help me retain memory again.
It is like... I do not remember things I was told two day ago even.. then when someone tells me again.. I totally remember again...
This is NOTHING like who I have been for all my adult life.. it makes me kinda sad. I miss that beautiful young woman I used to be.
I like the new one though... I do. But, I hurt for the girl I lost..when I look inside at her, I just want to hug her tight..
-
Jazzy
I wish they could do it with just a needle. I hate that you have to go under again. Just know that we are all behind you and will be praying for you on Monday. I know it is nothing, just keep a positive attitude. Keep smiling
that beautiful smile of yours.
-
Jazzy- Honey you know you have our love, our prayers, and our support- all of it. I am so glad you said something the group so you can be reminded of that! HUGS!!
