Kittycat~
Great news!
-
Kittycat-I am so glad everything is working out for you. It sounds like you have a good team that really cares about you. I think it makes the "journey" a little easier when we know all the good players are on our team!!! I hope everything keeps going in the right direction for you!!!
-
Hi sweetie pies, I've been sick also, so haven't been on, sorry! I've missed tons, I see. Judy, so happy for you! Kitty Cat, awesome news! Laura, you sound wonderful.
I second the Angels wireless bra, that thing is amazing!
Anyone having racing heart or elevated heartbeats on arimidex? I am now, and they thought it was my advair, nope. then they thought perhaps my synthroid too high. Haven't heard, so probably not. It's racing away at 100 bpm. and GP says that's way too high, altho I know that I normally go around with a very fast pulse and have for years. Now they want me to check my heart and see if it was chemo damaged. I read somewhere that arimidex causes this....hope not, but I am not taking one tonight and will call my onc on Monday to see.
Always some darm thing, huh? Happy mamas day to all lovely girls.

Kittycat, great news!!! Once you get your plan finalized, you will be good to go! Here's a great source for online wigs, tlcdirect.org. It's a nonprofit subsidiary of the American Cancer Society and the monofilament wigs are half the price you find at retail sites. Also, they are returnable if you keep them pristene. I ordered four from tlc and found two locally at "wig closets" in town and then had a Wig Olympics with my buds to pick the best wig! Returned the rest. Gotta find the fun where you can, right? Chemo is now a distant memory for me and it will be for you, too.
Wishing you the very best, deekaay.

Annie great to see a post from u. Hope your test with your heart come back just fine.
Hoping the best for all my bc friends. My heart is aching for loosing a local gal to this aweful disease. No one should loose their mother before they are out of high school. Just not fair. We should all have the chance to become grandma's and watch them get married and have babies. Someday I hope this will happen.

HAPPY MOMS DAY to ANYONE WHO IS ONE!!!!!!
HUGS
XXXOOO
Laura

-
Sandy - sorry to hear about losing someone local to bc. This disease is awful!!!
Deekay - thanks for the info about the wigs. I love the Wig Olympics!!!
Happy Mother's Day everyone!!!

Happy Mothers Day everyone!!!! Since we all kind of mother eachother through this it seems appropriate ((((((HUGS)))))))

Kitty: So glad you got out and kicked your heals up! Keep positive thoughts and we are all envisioning you healthy very soon. Maybe that taste of margarhita will ride you through till your done with the z-pack

Maggie: I do see progression as well with my discomfort level. However, still battling this IMF pain that flared up during the heaviest coughing of my bronchitis (about 4-5 weeks post-exchange). Yesterday I did my abdominal exercises and wore a push up bra. This morning I was woken out of a sound sleep with sharp pains under my right side (IMF). I am 10 weeks post exchange. When will this stop?! I HAVE to be able to do those exercises for my back.
IT IS SNOWING IN SYRACUSE, NEW YORK on Mother's Day

Kristen: I share your pain down the road here in Rochester: SNOW???? TODAY???? ugh!
Happy Mothers Day to mothers everywhere: and I agree we all mother eachother here so to all of us too!
Ladies I must report here a milestone for me: I went out on a date this weekend: first time since my BMX in January. (I mentioned this on the nipple -sparing board too). Lots of thought went into when how to mention this, if at all. I ended up bringing it up in an e mail first (in case it freaked him out I didnt want to see that look on his face in person). At dinner he asked me to tell him more about it which I carefully did trying to have a balance and not TMI. Anyway I was pretty self conscious at first although I admit I did wear a very flattering top that rocked the perky look
So, it went very well and date #2 is in the works. Whew! I still have a long way to go with this (you know, like maybe some day the "big reveal") but at least I made the first step and actually went out with someone!! -
Kitty, congrats on clear margins!!!! My prayers are with you that your treatment goes smoothly and successfully with no SEs.
Happy Mother's Day!

That is great Fairport! That snow must be melting around your house!! And Kristen Pink I don't think I could handle another snowfall, ugh! So sorry you are still hurting, that was some cough you had! Hope all our sorenesses go away SOON! Laura2, that makes a lot of sense about the node area.
Annie, hoping that all is okay.
Big Apple, that is so true! Have a great day to those that are moms, will spend time with a mom, or just plain miss their moms!

-
Katey, you said it so well, so I'll just second the thought: happy mother's day to all the moms, to everyone spending time with moms and to those missing their moms. Beautiful.
-
Just read the good news Kittycat!! I am so happy for you!!
I hope all you ladies that are Moms have a wonderful Mother's Day!
You know I told you all that I have had me left expander for 16 months. I have had continuous pain on both sides, even when I didn't have the expander in for a while on the right. It feels like a tight band. I have been in pt almost constantly since my mastectomies. I shiver to think the pain I would have without pt.I have slowly over the months got most of my feeling back. I can actually touch my breast area and feel it. Not like I used to, but I do feel it. In my case I wish I would go back to being numb. I hate the way it feels. I hurt all the time and the feelings I have are hard to describe, but I don't like them. I am actually hoping when I have my exchange, they cut some nerves and I go numb again. Is that terrible?
Have a beautiful day ladies and good luck to all those with surgery this week..........Lilah, Val61, Katrnagain92, and TNgolpher,((((((((hugs)))))))

Fairport -- that's HUGE! Wow! Congratulations on that milestone. I'm totally impressed. Date 2 in the works so quickly -- that's fabulous. I think all that you did took a lot of courage. Wahoooo!
Katey, a special hello for your sunny words. I grew up across the LI Sound from you! Kristen Pink -- SNOW!?!? That's crazy. Let the spring begin!
Happy Mom's Day -- I agree that we all help mother/care for each other.
-
Kittycat: Great news! I'm so happy for you! You kick that cancer in the b-tt! Prayers and hugs coming your way!

Susie, you will feel so much better after your exchange. The discomfort I have at times is nothing compared to the pain I had with the expanders. You will be so relieved to have the TEs out, believe me.
Good luck to everyone with surgeries this week! Lillah, yours is in just two days! Yeah!
-
Fairport...I think this is an amazing story in your life! It is a true story for SO SO SO many BC women! Good Luck and enjoy healing this part of your life!
-
Hope all you mothers out there had a great Mother's Day!!

Sending best wishes to all those scheduled for surgery this week--may you have painfree surgeries and speedy recoveries!!

Fairport, good for you!! That was a big step. May date #2 go well
Kristenpink- SNOW? We don't get snow in the winter, but I can't imagine it in May!! Tell it to get out and let spring begin...

Been out of town. Only up to page 441....so still not up to date. Only up to April 28th
Judy...sooo sorry...glad it is going to be okay or at least so far on page 441
Laura...re Cholesterol...I have the same problem and am trying to buy more time to avoid cholesterol meds...I really don't want to take them and I always get the side effects so getting used to them would be really hard plus they interfere with Co Q 10...anyway.....right now I am trying 20 mg Policosanol twice a day.....won't know until July if it is working. I have also been eating as many organic avocados as I can to try and lower it that way. Some of the other supplements I take are also supposed to be good but I can't remember which ones. My goal is to try to raise my good cholesterol to fix the ratio. I know doing it through diet and exercise will take longer than drugs but there are also other factors that are more important than cholesterol in the whole heart health picture. Good luck....I will let you know if I have any improvement with the Policosanol and if you find an an answer please let me know. At my last appointment I had lowered my triglycerides by 200 points through my BC diet changes and instead of the doc doing a happy dance, he said he wanted me off my BP med and on FOUR that's right FOUR different meds for BP and cholesterol. I told him I was busy enough with BC and didn't have time to feel sick getting used to FOUR meds that would make me too tired and my muscles ache too much to get out of bed.
14 more pages to go but have to sign off now.
All my best to all of you.
