LOL I was just posting that IDK your song seaotter but that Joe Cocker did a kickin' version of Feelin' All Right. IDK your song either Sugar, it's a sign, I'd better head out for a walk. :-)
-
Hey Joe - Jimmy Hendrix
Looks like Seotter and I both put songs up at the same time. Mine is still up for grabs. Here it is again...
The war was over and the spirit was broken
The hills were smokin' as the men withdrew
We stood on the cliffs
Oh, and watched the ships
Slowly sinking to their rendezvous
They signed a treaty and our homes were taken
Loved ones forsaken
They didn't give a damn
-
I give on this one Sugar. Hope someone else knows it.
-
Okay to keep the game moving...here's the answer:
Acadian Driftwood by The Band
Here's a new song:
Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door?
With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war.
-
Question by the Moody Blues
Go ahead and hate your neighbor
Go ahead and cheat a friend
Do it in the name of Heaven
You can justify it in the end
-
One Tin Soldier, Skeeter Davis
Did you find a directing sign
on the straight and narrow highway?
Would you mind a reflecting sign
Just let it shine within your mind -
Blood Sweet and Tears
Living in the city
I've been abused, he has
Jobs I keep the people I meet
They don't do more than make me amused
-
Sounds so familiar Sugar, but I can't place it yet!
-
stumped here too
-
Okay, here it is: Animal Zoo - by Spirit
Here's another one (I used to play this one on the piano all the time):
Once I thought I saw you
in a crowded hazy bar,
Dancing on the light
from star to star.
Far across the moonbeam
I know that's who you are,
I saw your brown eyes
turning once to fire. -
Like a Hurricane - Neil Young
I met a gin soaked, bar-room queen in Memphis
She tried to take me upstairs for a ride.
She had to heave me right across her shoulder
'cause I just can't seem to drink you off my mind. -
Honky Talk Woman - The Rolling StonesSweet blossom come on, under the willow
We can have high times if you'll abide
We can discover the wonders of nature
Rolling in the rushes down by the riversideShe's got everything delightful
She's got everything I need
Takes the wheel when I'm seeing double
Pays my ticket when I speed -
Sugar Magnolia - Grateful Dead
I pulled into Nazareth, I was feelin' about half past dead;
I just need some place where I can lay my head.
"Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?"
He just grinned and shook my hand, and "No!", was all he said. -
The Weight - The Band (love The Band!!!)
I see your armor plated breast
Has long since lost its sheen
And in your death mask face
There are no signs which can be seen
And though I hoped for something to find
I could see no place to unwind -
One of my all-time favourite song from the early 70's....Conquistador by Procol Harem!
You are my whole, babe
My heart and my soul, babe
I'd having nothing to show, babe
If you should go away
-
-
IDK either!
-
Which Way You Going, Billy? by the Poppy Family. I think I'm showing my age as I loved this song when I was 10 and that was in 1970. Terry and Susan Jacks wrote and sang some great songs back in the day!
-
Collie-flower...I'm not far behind you. I was six in 1970! My favourite Terry Jacks song was Concrete Sea. I remember singing that song in our Plymouth Fury on the way to the cottage one summer. Good memories!
-
Collie-flower and Sugar,
I was born in 1962 too, and you brought back memories with the Pymouth Fury thing. We had a Chevy Concourse station wagon that I actually got my driver's license in. What a boat! You guys didn't post a new song. Shall I? How bout this one, one of my all time favorite songs:
There's a place I like to hide, a doorway that I run to in the night,
Relax child you were there, you only didn't realize and you were scared.
It's a place where you will learn, to face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind...........
-
Wow....Plymouth Fury, Chevy Concourse station wagon....your Dad's must've been cool! My Dad drove a '64 Pontiac Laurentian!! Hard to believe we all sat in those bench seats without a seatbelt in sight!
But for the life of me, I don't know that song Sharon....lovely lyrics!
-
Silent Lucidity - Queensryche
Love I get so lost, sometimes
Days pass and this emptiness fills my heart
When I want to run away
I drive off in my car
But whichever way I go
I come back to the place you are
All my instincts, they return
And the grand facade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the insideedit to add link to live version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JHpmy7RV9Y
-
In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel great song!
I've been searching a long time
For someone exactly like you
I've been travelling all around the world
Waiting for you to come through.
Someone like you makes it
All worth while -
(check out the link I posted above to "In Your Eyes")
Someone Like You - Van Morrison
On the first part of the journey
I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds
and rocks and things.
There was sand and hills and rings.
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
and a sky with no clouds.
The heat was hot
and the ground was dry
but the air was full of sound. -
Horse With No Name - America love your taste!!!!
Is everything a baited hook?
And are there locks on all doors?
If you're looking for an open book,
Look no further, I am yours.
We'll behave like animals, swing from tree to tree
We can do anything that turns you up
and sets you free -
-
Got me!
-
So sorry. It is Southern Girl by Incubus
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRAJ7mPtZ5c
This one is easy
Well our hearts beat like thunder
I don't know why they don't explode
You got your hands in my back pockets
And Sam Cooke's singin' on the radio
You say that I'm the boy who can make it all come true
Well I'm tellinya that I don't know if I know what to do -
You got me Seaotter!
-
again??? it is so easy!!!!!
