Cracking, popping joints

Hi,

I've noticed in the last few months that everything seems to be cracking on me.  It is like my tendons are lax.  I had a bone scan last fall and it was fine except for some arthritis that I already knew I had.  I had an ooph and remain on Tamoxifen, and was wondering if any other ER+ women are noticing more cracking and popping in the joints?  I'm wondering if it is due to lack of estrogen.

    i have alot of popping a cracking expectly in my knees, i was wondering if it had to do with the femara.  laurie

    Hi,

    Since I've been on Arimidex and Zometa (bisphosphanate) I have cracking popping joints. If I do any "squats" my right knee (arthritis knee) cracks.   I'm always stiff in the evenings and mornings.   I believe it's the Zometa and also the Arimidex.  I also have it in my right jaw, it pops at times when I open my mouth or bite into something.

    KEW - do you have arthritis in your knees?   That's where mine is.

    I also have arthritis in my right knee.  I had arthroscopy in that knee last September to repair a torn meniscus.  It was doing well, but I started Arimidex at the beginning of April.  The cracking in that knee is worse now, with discomfort in certain bent positions.

    No, not in my knees, in my hands and neck yes.  I'm having a follow up bone scan tomorrow, so I guess we will see if there have been any changes since last fall.

    My onco has told me that reduction in estrogen will cause joint issues - estrogen is a "lubricant" and keeps your joints fluid.  I have noticed the cracking & popping.  I also have alot of shoulder/rotator cuff issues and I am attributing that to the antiboitic, Cipro, that was prescribed during my chemo.  It has been found that Cipro can cause tendon issues.
