Double mastectomy with NO diagnosis of cancer
Hi. My daughter is attending NYU post graduate school in journalism. She would like to write a report about women who are at high risk and undergo a double mastectomy for prevention. Is there anyone out there who is willing to share their story with her? If so, I will have her sign on with me to ask her questions. Thank you so much. This is such a delicate and frightening issue but at the same time, has great benefits in sharing.

Dear Cherries58: Thank you very much. My daughter's name is Vanessa DiMaggio. Her email address is vanessyd@aol.com. You can google her name and see all of the articles she's written in her journalism world. Please send her an email at your convenience to get things started. Again, thank you so very much for sharing your life story with my daughter.

Not sure if your daughter has written her report or not, but I am pre PBM. Planning for June. I would be willing to share my story with her if she still needs it.

I am having PBM tomorrow due to ALH and family history. I didn't want to take tamoxifen and have the worry every time due to numerous biopsies.

Was your daughter's report ever published anywhere? I just has preventative surgery because I am BRCA-2 +, and I love to read about others's stories.
