    Kari

    YAY! for getting off work!

Wish I could get motivated to go out for at least a walk every day...

Deanna--Amazing walking you do! I tend to walk more on weekends, but during the week I do other types of workouts. Tonight I managed about 20-25 minutes--that's it, then spent 20 minutes icing my back, which I really needed.

Harley, Glad to hear that your boss is hiring more staff; maybe when you are less tired you will feel like working out more.

Kari, I know you mentioned your "overhaul," but I was just wondering: how is your back these days?

Kittycat, Still thinking of you and holding hope for each step along the way following diagnosis.

I haven't forgotten you others; I'm just too tired to try to remember everyone's names! Hope you all are as well as possible.

HI all, had to give the feet a rest yesterday and just did weight lifting.  So frustrating.  Had a good weight lifting session though.  I know my back will be screaming by tonight, so think I'll do a quick treadmill this AM and yoga after work.  Busy week this week but I'm determined to get in at last my 10 min rule each day.  We've had a couple of nice days, now to cold yucky and rainy again.  Envy those of you with good walking weather.

Hope your back is better Kari, hope you all make it a good one

Hope the back is better Kari.

Walked my fast 2 miles! The weather here has been cooler, thank goodness! Sunday it was over 90! Much easier to exercise in nice dry air, and not too hot! LOL!!!

Maura-I make either smoothies with yogurt or slushies with fruit juice and ice. Strawberries are in down here and they are soooo good.

Kiitycat ((((((hugs))))))) Makes you want to smack someone doesn't it?

I go for blood work on Friday and a bone den scan. First one I have had. They are adding a few more test for the blood. I have no appetite and lost 5 pounds. I don't care to eat and my Dd is getting chubby. I feel fine though. Go figure.

I have been walking a little. Finally got my stitches out and my arm has been burned but that should be all the things for me this go around. Did find out my Dd doesn't like hard boiled eggs. Went to give her a piece the other day and she tired to bury my hand. So funny! She is getting a bath in about 10 minutes which means I get wet too.

Yoga this afternoon and then work and then Thurs/Fri off. I'm getting my hair cut Thursday. Too curly and wild for me to handle. but like the rest of you - not complaining about it blowing in the wind. Just glad I have it again. I just don't know what to do with it short and no patience to grow it long again.

Beautiful weather here on the coast. Been windy but warm. We will all be complaining about the heat soon. Hugs to all and have a great Wednesday.

Back is hanging in there, thanks all for asking!  The Traumeel really does help!!  I had lunch with another bc sister (same age) and she had been taking Celebrex for arthritis for years, but just found out it caused an ulcer...so it scared me about taking so much Ibuprofen, my PCP had prescribed me 600 mg 3 x's a day for my back.  But I'm like isn't that a lot?  How much is too much?  I don't like taking meds at all and I was worried about it and also, it doesn't help!  The homeopathic stuff works better! yay

So I walked after work yesterday and did ok but halfway through I got dizzy and my heart rate spiked and I was sweating profusely.  It was hot out, I ended up in a driveway that had shade and just stood there.  I was hungry also.  My blood pressure has always been on the lower end so I get this issue when I'm hot.  Went home ate good and then did yoga, I was falling asleep, but it was 8pm and I had to watch American Idol!  lol

Brenda, you had to ice your back?  Are you ok and how is your shoulder?

Maura, I've never done the slimfast thing but my DH and others I know have.  Are you just eating fruit to lose weight or what's up??

Joy, wonder if your hair will stay curly when you get it cut!???

Springie, I've noticed the last 2 walks I've taken my shins were killing me.  Everytime I try and walk fast! UGH  and I stretch before!

Kari hope your back is feeling all better.

Joy, hope your dr. appt & bloodwork are all ok.  I'm seeing my surgeon on Friday, so I'll be thinking about you.  He also orders bloodwork, even though I am going to see my onc in June and ... more bloodwork, and my primary care dr. just did bloodwork in April.  I wonder if I'll have any blood left when they are done with me....  LOL

Brenda, thanks.  Hope your back is feeling better... I bet the ice really helped!!

kmmd, hope you are feeling better, and your feet got a good rest.

    Hugs to all

Harley - I'm glad you are getting a reprieve at work.  I can't imagine working more than 5 days a week.  My job is pretty stressful, but everyone has been pretty understanding about this, esp with the new diagnosis.

I had surgery yesterday.  The BS removed more scar tissue because my margins were positive.  He also removed some nodes.  Hopefully both the tissue and nodes are clear!!!  Otherwise, he wants to go in again and he's afraid the capsule won't support my implant!  WHAT?  I emailed my PS to ask him about it.  I am now recuperating, but the anesthesia kicked my booty!  I got pretty sick last night.  Ughhh...  I'm resting today and not feeling as queasy!

Kittycat -((((((hugs))))))) you take it easy and relax if you can. Praying with everyone else here too.

Warm today again. And I am going to enjoy my day off!! I'll get the haircut and plan to letting it grow longer come winter. My hair is thick and curly now. Not use to it! Everyone have a great day.

Kittycat - big big hugs to you while you wait for the GOOD news!  Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.  Glad that your job is understanding.

Joy, enjoy your day off.  Harley, awesome on your upcoming walk!!

No exercise yesterday - was very sore so just relaxed.

Are anyone elses fingernails/toenails (those that had chemo) still messed up?  I mean, thin, bendable, peeling...UGH, pre-chemo I had the most beautiful nails, the complete opposite of now!

    Hey hey hey to all!

Kari, 600 mg. of Ibuprofen 3x/day does sound like a lot to be taking on a regular basis.  I would definitely worry about taking that much other than for a very short-term need.  Here are a couple of links I just pulled up for you:

    http://www.everydayhealth.com/specialists/general_internist/liebowitz/qa/taking-too-much-ibuprofen/index.aspx

    http://www.arthritis-treatment-and-relief.com/how-much-ibuprofen-is-too-much.html

You certainly don't want to risk damage to your kidneys or liver!

Oh, and let's keep in touch on your trip to Fallbrook!  If it works out, I would love to pop over to say "Hi" in person while you're there, or maybe meet somewhere nearby!

I walked 4.34 miles yesterday and 3.62 miles today.

Can't believe the week has flown by...  Hugs to all ~    Deanna

Deanna, thank you so much for the info, I also forwarded that info to my DH as he hurt his shoulders on vacation and has been taking my ibuprofen.  At first I was taking it, but I take it sparingly, but now I will think twice and keep to the homeopathic stuff!!  I will keep you posted on Fallbrook, I would LOVE to meet you in person!

I walked in the canyon on the trail behind my office at lunch (about 1.8-2 miles).  Very breezy out, but it felt good!  Was sweating upon my return since its uphill!  Feeling more alert now than prior to the walk!!

Beautiful day. Got my hair trimmed. My hairdresser wants it to grow out instead of keeping it short.  My hair is getting darker and straighter.

Go for my blood work on Friday and a bone den test. And another day off and suny to boot. Then working this weekend. Music Festival in Beaufort by the sea.

Good morning all.  This week I have walked regularly.  The weather has been beautiful.  I am hoping to do some really long training walks this weekend before I go down on Monday with exchange.  I am getting nervous, like all of us do, and want next week at this time here.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.  Kiss the kids, husbands, dogs, cats or whatever you have and be thankful we have all made it to where we are. I know I sure am.  Last year at this time I was ignorant about all of this.  What a rude awakening.  Hugs to all. diane

I got good news today - clear margins and nodes! Thank God!!!  Now I have to wait for what kind of treatment they wil give me, but that will wait another 2-3 weeks until I heal and get a petscan.  I have triple negative bc and I'm BRCA1, but my onco says that responds very well to treatment!

KittyCat, that is great news. You sound like you're in a good place.

I was feeling a little sick yesterday! At 5:30, after work, I slept for 2 hours! Everyone at work kept telling me I sounded tired. Anyway, no walking yesterday for me. First time I missed in a while... But gotta get that "gunk" out!!! Must walk today, and it's HOT AS HECK in NC these days!!! :O

What ValJean said, Happy Mother's day to the Mom's out there!! :)

I wish I could exercise.  The weather is so beautiful here.  Normally it is over 90 degrees in Vegas in May.  It's been in the 70's.

I'm just grateful that that I had good news yesterday.  My hubby is going to help me get really cleaned up today.  It's been sponge baths and washing my hair in the kitchen sink because I have my bandages on.  I get my drain and bandages removed Monday morning!  Woo Hoo!!!!

I hope everyone has a great Mother's Day weekend!  :)

Kittycat I am trying to help you if you have to have chemo question them very strong we on the hair loss never was told that Taxotere can cause hair loose permanently and there are a group of us who have very thin sparse and bald heads after up to 5 years after chemo and more adding to our list every day. I never dreamed in a minute that my hair would not grow back but people like you have a choice where we didn't they took our choice away from us there were other chemos to take that worked just as well now I am going to plant myself at the ONC office when the drug reps come and ask why they don't warn ladies. Yes I am happy I am here but part of me is dead when I walk my DD I have to hold on to my ball cap because its a ugly site. Just trying to help so please dont mind me budding in we have already helped a few ladies to switch to Taxol which is just as good.

Happy Mother's Day to all the hot mama's out there!

Update on Meg:  The tumor board was unanimous in recommending Meg do chemo.  She's had a tough last 2 weeks wrapping her head around this, but she got her port AND started chemo Friday, 8 rounds 2 weeks apart, 4 A/C and 4 Taxol.  She has an appt. to get her head shaved next Thursday.  She is so brave.  I know how so many of you on this thread adore Meg, so I wanted you to know.  I've been thinking of her all night, it's really getting to me.

kitty - good news for you!  yay

Spring - are you feeling better?  Maybe the heat got to you, it really gets to me and its not even hot here yet.  But its like my body temp can't regulate right.  I've had some weird stuff happen...

Lots of love and positive vibes to all!

Please send Meg my best wishes.

Been pretty tired this weekend so the workouts a little more low key.  Still working on getting 6 days of something in a week.  Anyone ever heard of an ultra marathon.  One of the students was telling me about it yesterday, 2 marathons in a row.  Can you imagine?

Maura!  OMG - THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME THIS!!!!!  I don't know why they would put you on a chemo that would do that (unless it was really good for a certain type of cancer).  Still - I would rather have temporary hair loss than permanent hair loss!!!  Wow!!!!  I can't believe they didn't tell you this!  That sucks!!
