    Jo,

    My redness was consistent and my breast was quite a bit larger than the other one (inflammation) and my infected breast had a hard texture.  It was not soft like the other breast tissue.  I had some itching and my breast was a lot warmer than the other one.  I had typical symtoms.  I believe the core biopsy will confirm if it is ibc.  It's good your doctor is checking this out.

    Dear Ibcmets,

    Could it be possible to have pain with IBC that varies... some days it hurts more than others?

    I have swelling of one breast and nipple/areola area, itching and sometimes intense pain and sometimes almost no pain. Sometimes it seems that the axilla area is more swollen than others.

    But the swelling and itching of the breast is still the same, the breast is actually harder than the other.
