DH

I read through your posts and they remind me of my brother in law. He's at the top of my list when I think of people I admire. As my sister went through her final battle with cancer was provided this huge amount of compassion and support to her and to their daughter (college freshman) at the same time. I did what I could to help but he was the rock. You sound so loving and patient - just like him. My thoughts are with you.

Girls,
Just an update on DH for you. Unfortunately, we got the results from a PET he had last Friday, and the cancer is growing again. He will be a seven year survivor next month, and you'd be amazed if you met him at how well he is doing. He met Everyminute, and we all had a nice meal together. Anyway, I need the prayers again. They mean a lot to me. They're giving him two treatment options, but have told him that neither is a good choice, and that we shouldn't treat it.
You know, I always look at my DH as a great example of how doctors are really best-guessing our situations. At his initial diagnosis, he was given a year and a half to three years max, and last year at this time he was given three to six months. So, whatever your situation is, keep the faith and hope alive, because they mean more than what any doctor or study says!
Love
Bobbie

What a lovely meal we had, Bobbie. A beautiful afternoon with such great people. DH is an example of strength in the face of adversity and faith in the face of trial. I look to you both as examples on how to really live.
-
Bobbie - thinking of you all.
There is that saying - "you can't control your circumstances, you can only control your reaction to them". You guys are a perfect example of how to live with the cards you have been dealt.
I am hoping he proves those Dr's wrong yet again.
-
Amen, Kerry. I'll keep you guys posted. You are my rocks!
-
Bobbie,
Honey, I sure wish I was closer so I could come give you a hug. Your DH has proved these dr's wrong everytime. Who says he won't do it again?
-
Bobbie,
I am often thinking about you and your DH. Prayers and hugs are being sent your way.
hugs,
Frankie

Bobbie, prayers are being sent your way! You're so right, Doctors are mere human beings. What do they know about our spirit?
-
I wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of your, your DH and family and will continue praying for all of you.
-
Thinking of you and your DH. May the courage, love and faith that has gotten you so far down this path continue to carry you forward.
-
Bobbie-
I wish I could give you a big hug. You are often in my thoughts with the strength you have and continue to show to us all. If there is anything I can do I am not that far away and would love to be a support/get-away for you and your boys. You are loved as you have been such a ray of sunshine during my journey in the shadows. I wish I could bring some joy your way during this ugly path your venting into.
God Bless and Hug your boys and DH for me.

Thanks so much for all your support and encouragement. I couldn't do this without you all. There are so many amazing, strong women here. David is doing pretty well right now. Supposedly, this spot is growing and we have to make a decision on whether to try low dose Avastin. It's not curative, and he does have problems with his kidneys (that Avastin could make worse), but I think he wants to do it. He was on a higher dose of Avastin for over two years that they think led to the kidney problems. He's amazing, though. Sometimes, it's like he comes out of the fog and he's like his old self for days at a time. He's still fatigued and moves slowly, but some days are just a lot better than others and we're trying to take advantage of it. We all know what it's like to just keep pluggin' away from day to day and hoping for the best.....
-
may you find joy in these days that pass Bobbie. You have a tough row to hoe. All my best and prayers too.
-
I wanted to let you know I've been thinking about you (and your family) and send (((hugs))) your way.
-
Hoping for many more "better days" ahead.
-
{hugs} Bobbie! Praying for many more good days.

Girls,
I've been in the hospital with Dave since Tuesday night. He has a significant burden of blood clots in his lungs along with pneumonia, but I think we've come up with a treatment plan that will be the best option for getting him through this. I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers as we continue to navigate through a tough time. You are all always in my heart, thoughts and prayers. What a blessing it is to have lots of great friends.
Peace,
Bobbie
