Multifocal DCIS was the initial diagnosis before my R breast mastectomy April 14.

Pathology report full of surprises.

13mm ILC

multiple foci intermediate grade DCIS

3mm grade 1 IDC

Sentinal nodes 1 and 2, pNO (i+)

ER+ 99%  PR+ 74%  HER-2 (3+)

Seeing oncologist on Tuesday. Wonder what surprises he will have for me.

Wow, it just shows that until the surgery is done and all the affected breast tissue is analysed, you can't be sure of anything.

With 3 mm of IDC, pN0 (i+), and being HER2+++, it could be that both chemo and Herceptin are considered.  3mm is on the low side for chemo/Herceptin, but being HER2+++ and with the small amount of nodal invasion  - too small to count as being node positive, but there nonetheless - that might move you into the gray zone.

Crap.  Sorry about this.   Let us know what happens on Tuesday.

Wow indeed.  Man, what a blow!  I have nothing to add except that I am so, so sorry you have to deal with this.  I hope you get encouraging answers from your oncololgist, and please, please do let us know what happens.
