Has anyone taken it?  I haven't been told I need it, but the oncologist offered to prescribe it if I wanted it.  Of course, the list of side effects gives one pause.  I was wondering about any experiences.  Hope all's well with everyone.  April showers here today!

I am on tamoxifen and have not taken Raloxifene.  I have read some reports on the STAR study that indicated that it is perhaps not quite as effective as tamoxifen, but has fewer risks and side effects.  I have done very well on tamoxifen and only have a few more months to go, at which point my onc will switch me to an AI.  Not as many will have used it as tamoxifen as it has only been used for a breast cancer preventative for a few years, but hopefully someone diagnosed more recently than I will be able to give you some feedback.

laurakay---I take Evista (raloxifene) and tolerate it very well with very minimal SEs; I also took tamoxifen for 5 years and tolerated that well too. I really notice no difference between the 2 meds.
