    America - Simon & Garfunkle

There is a young cowboy he lives on the range
His horse and his cattle are his only companions
He works in the saddle and he sleeps in the canyons
Waiting for Summer, his pastures to change
And as the moon rises he sits by his fire
Thinking about women and glasses of beer
And closing his eyes as the doggies retire
He sings out a song which is soft but it's clear
As if maybe someone could hear
    Goodnight you moonlight ladies.........

Sweet Baby James - James Taylor

    Leaves are falling all around,
It's time on was on my way.
Thanks to you, I'm much obliged
    For such a pleasant stay.

    Ramble On  ~  Led Zeppelin

I used to like to walk the straight and narrow line

I used to think that everything was fine

Sometimes I'd sit and gaze for days through sleepless dreams

All alone and trapped in time

    Crystal Ball - Styx

    But time makes you bolder
    Even children get older
    And I'm getting older too
    Oh I'm getting older too

    Landslide - Fleetwood Mac

    Get your motor runnin'
    Head out on the highway
    Lookin' for adventure
    And whatever comes our way

Born to be Wild -- Steppenwolf

One of my top ten ever...

    I was grounded
    while you filled the skies...

    I was dumbfounded by truth
    You cut through lies...

    I saw the rain-dirty valley
    You saw Brigadoon

    I saw the crescent...

The Whole Of The Moon by The Waterboys.

Just what I'm going through they can't understand.
Some try to tell me, thoughts they cannot defend,
Just what you want to be, you will be in the end.

Nights in White Satin - Moody Blues (love this band!) Here's an oldy but a goodie:

Lend me your ear while I call you a fool.
You were kissed by a witch one night in the wood,
And later insisted your feelings were true.
    The witch's promise was coming,
Believing he listened while laughing you flew.

    The Witches Promise....Jethro Tull

    Here's my fave Tull song:

The river's are full of crocodile nasties

And he who made kittens, put snakes in the grass

He's a lover of life and a player of pawns

The King of the sunset lies waiting for dawn...

Bungle In The Jungle (love this one, too!)

    Here's one of my favourites:

Laying down my treasure before the iron gate
Quickly rang the bell hoping I hadn't come too late
But someone came along and told me not to waste my time
And when I asked him who he was he said, 'Just look behind'

Blood, Sweat and Tears?  (I saw Steve Winwood perform it a couple of years ago, tho!)

    Back to the 80's...

See them walking hand in hand across the bridge at midnight
Heads turning as the lights flashing out it's so bright
Then walk right out to the fourline track
There's a camera rolling on her back, on her back
And I sense the rhythm humming in a frenzy all the way down her spine

Girls On Film....was my little sister's favorite ~ Duran Duran

    Meanwhile...I was listening to:

Well, we were just another band out of Boston

On the road and tryin' to make ends meet

Playin' all the bars, sleepin' in our cars

We practiced right on out in the street

No we didn't have much money, we barely made enough to survive

But when we got up on stage and got ready to play

    People came alive

Rock and Roll Band - Boston

You're thinking up your white lies
You're putting on your bedroom eyes
You say you're coming home but you won't say when
But I can feel it coming
If you leave tonight keep running
And you need never look back again

Take it on the run, baby

    REO Speedwagon

Yesterday a child came out to wonder / Caught a dragonfly inside a jar

Fearful when the sky was full of thunder / And tearful at the falling of a star

The Circle Game - Joni Mitchell

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
    I was soaring ever higher
    But I flew too high

Carry on My Wayward Son - Kansas - When my hubby and I were dating we saw them in concert at Pine Knob in Michigan.  Fond memories.

He lived in the sand at the Isle of Man
The kids would all sing, he would take the wrong key
So they rode on his head on their furry donkey

Happy Laughing Jack - The Who

I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
    She's coming in 12:30 flight

    Livin' in a lonely world

She took the midnight train going anywhere

    Don't stop believin'  ...by Journey

We were born before the wind

    Also younger than the sun

Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed......

Into the Mystic.....possibly the best song by the man himself....good one Roxanne!

Don't it always seem to go

You don't know what you got til it's gone

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot

    Why thank you Suzanne...I agree.

Big yellow taxi by Joni Mitchell

We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl

    Year after year

Running over the same old ground

    What have we found?

    The same old fears.....

Suzwes - I went to many concerts myself at Pine Knob and at Meadowbrook Music Festival while growing up!

    Yesterday - The Beatles

I feel uptight on a Saturday night
Nine o' clock, the radio's the only light
I hear my song and it pulls me through
Comes on strong, tells me what I got to do

    Detroit Rock City - KISS

A man walks down the street,
He says, Why am I soft in the middle now?
Why am I soft in the middle?
The rest of my life is so hard!
