I feel a little idiotic asking this...

...but you, my sisters, know how every lump, bump, ache and pain can be cause for a little freak out.  This morning in the shower I discovered a small lump on my kneecap (small patella for the medical-term buffs).  I've Googled the crap out of this and found that small-bone matasteses are very rare.  In addition, I swear I've read somewhere that it would be extremely rare for the metasteses to be that low.  Still, I can't think of any explanation for it and I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before.

I know this is silly and it's probably nothing but I can't help but wonder.  Has anyone heard of this?  Am I being ridiculous?

could it be an ingrown hair or sebaceous cyst?  I found a lump on my shin which scared me but has gotten smaller not larger - this is where that 2 week rule comes in to play.

You could google something called Baker's cyst but I think that is behind the knee.

I was told I had a bakers cyst years ago bit had no treatment for it.

I doubt this is cancer related and could be anyone of a number of things!

Have it checked to put your mind at ease but I really would'nt worry too much as it;s very rare for mets to go below the knee.
